Antipa Minerals Uncovers High-Grade Gold and Copper Zones at Minyari Dome
Antipa Minerals Ltd reports multiple high-grade gold and copper intersections from its Minyari Dome Project, reinforcing the potential for significant resource expansion. The latest drilling results highlight near-surface mineralisation and set the stage for an advanced economic study.
- Multiple thick, high-grade gold-copper intersections confirmed at Minyari Dome
- Notable intercepts include 51m at 2.7 g/t gold and 0.4% copper
- Mineralisation remains open at depth and along strike across several deposits
- CY2025 drilling program planned to expand Mineral Resource Estimate
- Advanced economic study and Pre-Feasibility Study preparations underway
Robust Drilling Results Reinforce Minyari Dome's Potential
Antipa Minerals Ltd (ASX: AZY) has released assay results from the third batch of its 2024 Phase 2 drilling campaign at the Minyari Dome Gold-Copper Project in Western Australia's Paterson Province. The results confirm multiple new zones of near-surface, high-grade gold and copper mineralisation, including standout intercepts such as 51 metres at 2.7 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 0.4% copper.
The drilling comprised 31 reverse circulation (RC) holes and five diamond core holes, totaling over 5,600 metres. These assays have revealed significant mineralisation not only within the main Minyari Deposit but also at the GEO-01 Main Zone and Fiama prospects, with additional credits from silver and cobalt grades enhancing the deposit's economic appeal.
Key Intersections Highlight Resource Growth Opportunities
Among the most notable results is drill hole 24MYD0533, which intersected 86 metres at 1.7 g/t gold and 0.41% copper starting from 121 metres downhole. This includes high-grade sub-intervals such as 1 metre at 60.8 g/t gold and 3.6% copper. Another highlight from the same hole is a 51-metre intersection averaging 2.7 g/t gold and 0.39% copper, featuring an extraordinary 0.55-metre section grading 90.7 g/t gold and 16.9% copper.
These results build on previous drilling successes and demonstrate the continuity and scale of mineralisation at Minyari Dome. The GEO-01 Main Zone also delivered encouraging intercepts, including 83.6 metres at 1.0 g/t gold from near surface, confirming the shallow nature of some mineralised zones and their potential for open-pit mining.
Strategic Exploration and Development Plans
Antipa's Managing Director, Roger Mason, emphasised the significance of these findings, noting that much of the mineralisation begins near surface and remains open at depth. This suggests considerable upside for resource expansion, which is critical for enhancing the project's development potential.
Looking ahead, Antipa is advancing preparations for its 2025 drilling program, scheduled to commence in the first quarter. This program aims to further grow the Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), currently standing at 2.3 million ounces of gold and 84,000 tonnes of copper, alongside significant silver and cobalt credits.
In parallel, the company is progressing technical workstreams to refine the project's economics and expects to initiate an advanced economic study shortly. This follows an updated scoping study released in October 2024, which confirmed the project's standalone development potential.
Regional Context and Competitive Positioning
The Minyari Dome Project is situated in a prolific mineral province, neighboring major operations such as Greatland Gold's Telfer mine and Rio Tinto's Winu deposit. Antipa's extensive tenement holdings and ongoing exploration success position it well to capitalize on the region's rich endowment.
With a comprehensive drilling program, robust assay results, and a clear development pathway, Antipa Minerals is steadily advancing Minyari Dome towards becoming a significant gold-copper producer.
Bottom Line?
As Antipa prepares for further drilling and economic studies, Minyari Dome's evolving resource base could reshape its market valuation and regional mining dynamics.
Questions in the middle?
- How will the upcoming 2025 drilling program impact the current Mineral Resource Estimate?
- What are the timelines and key milestones for the planned Pre-Feasibility Study and advanced economic study?
- How might silver and cobalt credits influence the project's overall economics and attractiveness to investors?
