Warriedar Uncovers High-Grade Gold Along Key Shears at Golden Range

Exploration Breakthrough at Golden Range

Warriedar Resources Limited (ASX: WA8) has delivered encouraging results from its inaugural aircore (AC) drilling campaign at the Golden Range Project in Western Australia. The program, conducted in the second half of 2024, comprised 58 holes for a total of 5,370 metres and was designed to test key structural zones that have long been suspected to host significant gold mineralisation beneath cover.

The highlight of the drilling was the successful delineation of the Mougooderra Shear Zone (MSZ), a major north-south structural corridor known to control multiple gold deposits within the project area. Notably, the program also confirmed the existence of a previously unproven parallel shear splay east of the MSZ, which returned high-grade gold mineralisation at shallow depths.

High-Grade Intercepts Signal New Potential

Among the standout assay results was an intercept of 6 metres at 4.28 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from just 3 metres depth on the newly identified parallel splay (hole MTAC002). Additionally, the MSZ itself yielded a narrow but high-grade intercept of 1 metre at 3.50 g/t gold from 49 metres depth (hole MOAC051). These results not only validate the structural interpretations but also underscore the prospectivity of these shear zones as conduits for significant gold mineralisation.

Warriedar’s Managing Director and CEO, Amanda Buckingham, emphasised the strategic importance of these findings, stating that the aircore program laid the groundwork for an expanded regional exploration focus in 2025. The company plans to undertake further aircore drilling to test additional interpreted shear splays and structural complexities across the Golden Range tenement package.

Context Within a Robust Resource Base

The Golden Range Project, situated approximately 350 kilometres northeast of Perth, is a substantial landholding covering over 70 kilometres of strike within the Yalgoo-Singleton greenstone belts. The MSZ hosts multiple deposits with a combined Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) exceeding 1.25 million ounces of gold, including the flagship Ricciardo deposit, which recently saw a 58% resource increase to over 1.28 million ounces.

Despite this, significant portions of the MSZ remain underexplored, particularly the 15-kilometre section between the Bugeye and Keronima deposits where Warriedar’s aircore drilling was focused. The new structural insights and mineralised intercepts in this area open fresh avenues for discovery in a historically under-drilled corridor.

Strategic Implications and Next Steps

The identification of a mineralised parallel shear splay east of the MSZ is particularly noteworthy, as it mirrors the structural setting of other known deposits such as Windinne Well to the west. This suggests that Warriedar’s structural model is robust and that multiple shear splays could host economically viable gold mineralisation.

Warriedar is planning follow-up reverse circulation (RC) drilling to test the depth extensions of the high-grade intercepts and to evaluate the strike potential of the newly identified structures. The company’s methodical approach, combining modern geoscience data with targeted drilling, positions it well to unlock further value from the Golden Range Project.

With a clean balance sheet, zero debt, and over A$6 million in cash as of September 2024, Warriedar is financially equipped to advance its exploration agenda aggressively through 2025.
