Exploration Momentum in Brazil

PVW Resources (ASX:PVW) has accelerated its rare earth elements (REE) exploration activities in Brazil, particularly at the Capão Bonito project where initial auger drilling commenced in October 2024. The project targets ionic adsorption clay (IAC) hosted rare earths, a highly sought-after deposit type due to its relatively low-cost extraction potential. By the end of the December quarter, 27 holes had been drilled to depths of up to 15 meters, with samples undergoing preliminary pXRF assessment before submission to SGS laboratories for detailed analysis.

Despite seasonal rains causing some delays, the company expects to complete this first phase of regional exploration imminently, with assay results anticipated early in the next quarter. The in-country team, led by Ms Celeste Quieroz, has maintained a strong safety and environmental record while rapidly advancing the program.

Strategic Focus and Project Pipeline

Brazil remains a cornerstone of PVW’s exploration strategy, leveraging the country’s mining-friendly policies and rich mineral endowment. Beyond Capão Bonito, PVW plans to initiate exploration at the Mucambo and Sguario projects, further expanding its footprint in this critical minerals hotspot. The company’s diversified portfolio also includes gold and REE assets in Australia’s Tanami, Gascoyne, Kalgoorlie, and Leonora regions, where tenure reviews and heritage negotiations are ongoing to optimise project potential.

Leadership and Financial Position

In a significant corporate development, PVW announced the appointment of Lucas Stanfield as CEO, effective 3 February 2025. Stanfield brings extensive experience in rare earth project development, having recently led strategic initiatives at WA1 to advance deposits from discovery through to production readiness. His leadership is expected to sharpen PVW’s operational focus and accelerate project advancement.

Financially, PVW reported a cash balance of $1.3 million at the end of December 2024, with $214,000 invested in exploration activities during the quarter. The company’s expenditure reflects a disciplined approach to advancing its projects while managing costs amid fluctuating market conditions. Payments to related parties, including director fees and corporate services, totaled $139,000.
