FMR Resources Limited (ASX:FMR) has announced a significant advancement in its exploration campaign at the Fairfield Copper Project in New Brunswick, Canada. The company has completed detailed airborne Very Low Frequency Electromagnetic (VLF EM) surveys and 3D inversion modelling, which have refined and validated conductive targets consistent with copper mineralisation trends. This geophysical work has delineated a substantial 1 km by 0.7 km conductive body at the Demoiselle prospect, a key highlight within the project area.

Historical drilling within this conductive zone has already intersected encouraging copper and silver mineralisation, including intervals such as 8.1 meters at 0.9% copper and 7 grams per tonne silver starting from 12 meters depth. Notably, higher-grade zones were recorded, including 4.5 meters at 1.3% copper and a narrow but rich 0.3 meters at 10.5% copper with 31 grams per tonne silver. These results, although promising, have not been followed up until now, leaving the mineralisation open for extension along strike and at depth.

Beyond Demoiselle, the survey identified a series of new regional VLF EM anomalies, particularly at Demoiselle South, where a 2 km prospective trend coincides with copper soil anomalies exceeding 200 ppm. This area remains largely untested by drilling, with only a single historic hole intersecting 0.8 meters at 0.5% copper. Additional priority targets have been defined at Dorchester North, Lower Cape, and Tantramar, each associated with conductive zones and surface copper mineralisation, providing a robust pipeline of prospects for evaluation throughout 2025.

The Fairfield Project's location within the Appalachian Copper-Gold Belt is strategically significant. This prolific geological province hosts several major copper deposits, including the nearby Dorchester sediment-hosted copper deposit, which recorded historic production and remains a benchmark for exploration in the region.
