Gateway’s Exploration Spend of AUD 323K Highlights Focus Amid Pending Assays

Comprehensive Geophysical Surveys Complete

Gateway Mining Limited (ASX: GML) has reported significant progress in its exploration activities during the March 2025 quarter, highlighted by the completion of a high-quality airborne magnetic survey across the entire 488km² Barrelmaker Gold Project in Western Australia’s Sandstone region. This survey, conducted by MagSpec Airborne Surveys and processed by Southern Geoscience Consultants, provides a detailed geophysical dataset with 50-metre line spacing, enhancing the resolution over previously low-quality regional data.

Complementing the magnetic survey, Gateway completed a systematic geochemical sampling program along the 22-kilometre Youno Fault corridor, a major structural feature within the project area. This corridor remains largely untested historically, and the pending assay results are eagerly anticipated as they could reveal new gold mineralisation zones.

Field Assessments and Structural Mapping Inform Next Steps

In addition to geophysical and geochemical work, Gateway undertook detailed field assessments including structural mapping and regolith characterisation of identified key targets. These efforts aim to better understand the controls on gold mineralisation and refine targeting ahead of drilling. The integration of these datasets is expected to underpin the design of future exploration programs, including drill testing.

The Barrelmaker Project, covering over 80 kilometres of prospective strike within the under-explored Gum Creek Greenstone Belt, represents one of the largest consolidated land holdings in the Sandstone region. Despite historical exploration, the project has not been fully tested with modern techniques until now, positioning Gateway to unlock its potential.

Joint Venture Drilling Advances at Edjudina

Meanwhile, Gateway’s joint venture with Latitude Resources (ASX: LAT) at the Edjudina Project in the Laverton region continues to advance. Latitude has commenced a 9,000-metre aircore drilling program targeting significant gold-in-soil anomalies, with results expected in the near term. This drilling follows up on previous exploration success and aims to extend known mineralisation zones.

Financial Position and Outlook

Gateway reported a solid cash position of AUD 4.22 million at quarter-end, with exploration expenditure of AUD 323,000 during the period. There were no mining production or development activities reported, consistent with the company’s focus on exploration and resource definition. Payments to related parties, including directors and consultants, were disclosed in line with ASX requirements.

Looking ahead, Gateway plans to integrate the new geophysical and geochemical data to generate refined drill targets, particularly along the Youno Fault corridor. The company’s methodical approach to building foundational datasets before drilling reflects a disciplined strategy to unlock value in its large-scale projects.
