Panther Metals Unveils High-Grade Gold Hits and New Nuggets at Laverton
Panther Metals has completed a significant drilling campaign at its Laverton Gold Project, revealing multiple high-grade gold intercepts and fresh nugget discoveries that underscore the project's robust potential.
- Completed 2,544m drilling across Burtville East, Rainier, and Comet Well
- High-grade gold stockpile assays up to 27.20g/t Au at Burtville East
- Multiple wide, high-grade gold intercepts confirmed in recent drilling
- Discovery of 46.1 grams of gold nuggets at Comet Well by third-party prospectors
- Metallurgical and mineralogical testing underway to support future mining studies
Drilling Completion and Assay Submission
Panther Metals has wrapped up its latest exploration phase at the Laverton Gold Project, delivering a comprehensive 2,544-metre drilling programme that targeted key zones including Burtville East (BVE), Rainier, and Comet Well. The campaign combined reverse circulation (RC) and aircore (AC) drilling methods, with all samples now submitted for assay analysis at Kalgoorlie laboratories.
Burtville East: Focus on High-Grade Extensions and Stockpile Evaluation
Burtville East remained the focal point of this round, with drilling designed to probe extensional zones of the bonanza-grade mineralisation, investigate historic stopes for safe bulk sampling, and collect metallurgical and mineralogical data critical for future mining feasibility. Complementing the drilling, 59 grab samples from existing gold stockpiles were assayed, revealing impressive grades exceeding 10 grams per tonne, including standout samples at 27.20g/t Au and 25.80g/t Au. These results not only validate the high-grade nature of the stockpiles but also pave the way for potential monetisation strategies.
Comet Well Nuggets Spark New Drill Targets
Adding to the project's momentum, a third-party prospecting group reported the discovery of 77 gold nuggets and 3 ironstone specimens at Comet Well, collectively weighing 46.1 grams. This find has prompted Panther Metals to update and refine drill targets in the area, aiming to trace the primary sources of gold mineralisation. The recent aircore drilling at Comet Well, comprising 17 holes over 406 metres, is expected to provide further insights into these alluvial gold occurrences.
Encouraging Drill Intercepts at Burtville East
Historical and recent drilling at Burtville East continues to impress, with multiple wide intervals of high-grade gold intercepted. Notable results from the 2024 RC campaign include 6 metres at 28.66g/t Au and 8 metres at 15.29g/t Au, with peak one-metre assays reaching up to 127g/t Au. These intercepts extend known mineralisation beyond previous underground workings, highlighting the potential for resource growth and underpinning the project's high-grade credentials.
Next Steps: Metallurgical Testing and Assay Results Awaited
With all drilling samples now dispatched for assay, Panther Metals is poised to integrate forthcoming data with ongoing metallurgical and mineralogical testing of stockpile samples. These studies will be instrumental in advancing mining studies and refining economic models. Managing Director Daniel Tuffin emphasised the safe and efficient execution of the programme and expressed optimism about the project's broader prospectivity, particularly given the continuous discovery of high-grade gold occurrences.
Bottom Line?
As assay and test results emerge, Panther Metals’ Laverton Gold Project stands at a promising inflection point for resource expansion and value realisation.
Questions in the middle?
- What will the assay results reveal about the newly drilled extensional zones at Burtville East?
- How will metallurgical testing influence the feasibility of processing high-grade stockpiles?
- Can the Comet Well nugget discoveries lead to identification of a significant primary gold source?
