Edjudina Range Extended: New Aircore Drilling Reveals 5m at 1.89g/t Au

Mining By Maxwell Dee 3 min read

Solstice Minerals has extended its Edjudina Range gold discovery within the Yarri Gold Project, revealing significant mineralisation over an 800m strike and preparing for its first Reverse Circulation drilling campaign.

  • New aircore drilling extends Edjudina Range gold system over 800m strike
  • Commercial-grade gold mineralisation confirmed on three sections spaced 200m apart
  • Strong pathfinder geochemistry and quartz veining support open mineralised system
  • Plans to mobilise RC rig after ongoing drilling at Statesman Well and Bluetooth targets
  • Yarri Project benefits from proximity to existing infrastructure and robust cash position

Discovery Expansion Through Aircore Drilling

Solstice Minerals Limited has reported encouraging progress at its Edjudina Range Prospect, part of the Yarri Gold Project in Western Australia. Recent infill and step-out aircore drilling has extended the gold mineralisation over at least 800 metres of strike, with significant new intercepts including 5m at 1.89g/t Au from 68m and 3m at 4.27g/t Au from 80m in resampled composites. These results confirm the presence of a robust gold-bearing system that remains open along strike.

Geological Context and Mineralisation Characteristics

The mineralisation is hosted within iron-oxide altered schists and quartz veining proximal to a distinct magnetic contact, situated on a structural corridor with strong pathfinder geochemistry such as arsenic and copper enrichment. The association of alteration, quartz veining, and anomalous arsenic supports the interpretation of a fertile mineralised system. Notably, commercial-grade gold mineralisation has been identified on three sections spaced 200 metres apart, indicating continuity and potential scale.

Transition to Reverse Circulation Drilling

Encouraged by the aircore results, which include mineralisation at the limit of aircore penetration (‘blade refusal’), Solstice plans to initiate its first Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling campaign at Edjudina Range. This will target the fresh rock profile beneath the weathered zone to better define the mineralisation. The RC rig is expected to mobilise to Edjudina Range following the completion of ongoing RC programs at the advanced Statesman Well and Bluetooth gold targets, which lie along the same regional structural corridor.

Strategic Positioning Within the Yarri Gold Project

The Yarri Gold Project encompasses a large 1,650 square kilometre landholding in the Eastern Goldfields, close to existing mining operations and infrastructure such as haul roads and processing facilities. This proximity enhances the commercial potential of discoveries like Edjudina Range. Solstice’s strong cash position of $13.6 million as of March 2025 provides the company with flexibility to advance exploration and resource definition across its portfolio, including recent acquisitions like the Nanadie Copper-Gold Project.

Outlook and Next Steps

Solstice’s CEO, Nick Castleden, emphasised the live nature of the Edjudina Range discovery and the company’s commitment to follow up with RC drilling to test the fresh rock mineralisation. Further aircore drilling is also planned to explore untested strike extensions within the 4km soil-covered segment of host stratigraphy. These efforts aim to delineate a meaningful resource and unlock value within this emerging gold system.

Bottom Line?

Edjudina Range’s evolving gold system positions Solstice Minerals for a pivotal phase of resource definition as RC drilling approaches.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will RC drilling confirm the continuity and grade of mineralisation indicated by aircore results?
  • How extensive is the Edjudina Range system beyond the current 800m strike length?
  • What impact will Edjudina Range have on Solstice’s overall resource portfolio and valuation?
