Drilling Delivers Strong Gold Results at Sandstone Hub

Brightstar Resources Limited (ASX: BTR) has announced compelling assay results from its recent ~5,300m reverse circulation (RC) drilling program targeting the Lord Nelson, Havilah, and Bull Oak deposits within its 1.5 million ounce Sandstone Hub in Western Australia. The results confirm the continuity of thick, high-grade gold mineralisation within optimised pit shells and highlight open extensions, reinforcing the potential for resource growth and advancing the company’s pre-feasibility studies.

The Lord Nelson deposit, hosting a current resource of 291,000 ounces at 1.6 g/t Au, was the primary focus with ~3,800m drilled to infill and extend mineralisation within a $2,500 AUD/oz optimised pit shell. Notable intercepts include 32m at 3.44 g/t Au from 200m, including 17m at 5.44 g/t Au, and 6m at 6.00 g/t Au from 250m, featuring a standout 1m at 24.0 g/t Au. These results confirm robust mineralisation continuity and support upgrading the resource classification to Indicated for economic assessment.

Encouraging Extensions at Havilah and Bull Oak

At the Havilah deposit, a smaller 730m program returned high-grade results such as 3m at 11.4 g/t Au including 1m at 29.5 g/t Au, indicating an open down-plunge high-grade shoot that remains untested at depth. This discovery opens new avenues for resource expansion in the near term.

The Bull Oak deposit drilling intersected multiple high-grade quartz reefs within a broader halo of lower-grade mineralisation. Highlights include 19m at 1.18 g/t Au from 177m, within a 106m intercept at 0.6 g/t Au, and 2m at 8.93 g/t Au from 112m. The granodiorite intrusion hosting Bull Oak is yet to be fully tested at depth, and Brightstar’s geology team is planning further geophysical and drilling programs to unlock its full potential.

Fully Funded Drilling Program and Strategic Outlook

Brightstar’s Managing Director, Alex Rovira, emphasised the significance of these results, noting that some of the widest and highest-grade intercepts at Lord Nelson have been encountered at the base of optimised pit shells, which bodes well for future open pit mining scenarios. The identification of new high-grade shoots at Havilah and promising geological controls at Bull Oak further enhance the Sandstone Hub’s growth prospects.

The company is executing a fully funded +130,000m drilling program for calendar year 2025, with ongoing RC drilling at the Indomitable Camp and recent completion of a ~6,000m program at the Yunndaga deposit in the Menzies Hub. Assay results from Yunndaga and other targets are pending, promising continued news flow.

Brightstar’s integrated approach, combining resource upgrades, exploration extensions, and advancing pre-feasibility studies, positions it well to unlock value across its Western Australian gold portfolio. The company also continues to operate underground mines at Laverton, with ore processed under an agreement with Genesis Minerals, supporting near-term cash flow.

Bottom Line?

Brightstar’s latest drilling success at Sandstone sets the stage for resource upgrades and potential new mining fronts, but the market will watch closely for upcoming assay results and feasibility outcomes.

Questions in the middle?

  • How will the new high-grade shoots at Havilah impact the overall Sandstone Mineral Resource Estimate?
  • What are the timelines and expected outcomes for the pre-feasibility study incorporating these drilling results?
  • Could the Bull Oak granodiorite intrusions host a larger-scale deposit beyond current resource boundaries?
