New Gold Targets Emerge as Premier1 Lithium Confirms High-Grade Mineralisation

Mining By Maxwell Dee 3 min read

Premier1 Lithium’s first reverse circulation drilling program at the Yalgoo Project has confirmed multiple high-grade gold intersections, revealing both extensions of known mineralisation and new targets.

  • 10m at 3.1g/t Au at Carlisle including 7m at 4.3g/t Au
  • 3m at 31.5g/t Au at Crescent South including 1m at 91.9g/t Au
  • New mineralised system identified west of Olive Queen
  • Drilling confirms structural and geochemical targets for follow-up
  • Plans underway for further exploration and resource definition

Maiden Drilling Success at Yalgoo

Premier1 Lithium Limited (ASX:PLC) has announced promising results from its inaugural reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Yalgoo Project in Western Australia. The program, designed to test extensions of known gold mineralisation and explore new targets identified through recent geochemical and litho-structural studies, has delivered several high-grade gold intercepts across multiple prospects.

Significant Intercepts at Carlisle and Crescent South

At the Carlisle Prospect, drilling intersected 10 metres at 3.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 19 metres, including a higher-grade 7-metre interval at 4.3 g/t. This result extends a historical intercept of 17 metres at 1.4 g/t, highlighting a previously untested north-dipping mineralised structure. Meanwhile, Crescent South yielded exceptional grades, including 3 metres at 31.5 g/t gold from 97 metres, with a standout 1-metre interval grading 91.9 g/t. These intercepts confirm the presence of a high-grade north-south structural corridor that remains largely untested along strike and at depth.

Discovery of New Mineralised System West of Olive Queen

Beyond confirming extensions of known mineralisation, the drilling program identified a new mineralised system approximately 200 metres west of the Olive Queen Prospect. First-ever drilling in this area intersected 1 metre at 1.5 g/t gold from 96 metres, accompanied by pathfinder element anomalies such as bismuth, tellurium, and molybdenum. These geochemical signatures suggest a mineralising system linked to a deep-seated transform fault, opening a fresh exploration front within the broader Wadgingarra area.

Strategic Implications and Next Steps

Managing Director Jason Froud emphasised the significance of these early results, noting that the high-grade intercepts rank among the best recorded at the project to date. The confirmation of overlooked mineralisation at Carlisle and the discovery of new targets west of Olive Queen underscore the potential for multiple gold-bearing structures within the Yalgoo greenstone belt. Premier1 plans to build on this momentum with follow-up drilling aimed at testing strike and depth extensions, refining geological models, and advancing towards resource definition.

The company has also secured a $180,000 co-funded grant to support detailed litho-structural studies and further drilling activities. These efforts will be critical to unlocking the full potential of the Yalgoo Project, situated in a region known for its prolific gold deposits.

Bottom Line?

Premier1 Lithium’s maiden drilling at Yalgoo sets the stage for a potentially significant gold discovery campaign.

Questions in the middle?

  • What are the true widths of the mineralised zones intersected in drilling?
  • How extensive is the newly identified mineralised system west of Olive Queen?
  • What timeline and scale will Premier1 Lithium pursue for resource definition drilling?
