Synertec’s Sydney Water Panel Appointment Could Reshape Its Revenue Outlook

Synertec Corporation Limited (ASX: SOP) has secured a coveted position on Sydney Water’s SCADA and Electrical Services Panel, a move that opens the door to an estimated $245 million in water infrastructure projects over the next five years. This appointment places Synertec among a select group of up to seven companies specialising in operational technology services for the water sector across Greater Sydney.

The panel membership not only enables Synertec to provide critical services directly to Sydney Water but also to its Regional Delivery Partners, consortia responsible for delivering Sydney Water’s extensive $34 billion infrastructure investment plan over the coming decade. These partners include major industry players such as Ventia, Downer Utilities, Jacobs, John Holland, and others, broadening Synertec’s potential reach within the sector.

Expanding National Footprint

This latest appointment complements Synertec’s existing engagements with other major water utilities, including Western Australia’s Water Corporation and Melbourne Water. Earlier this year, Synertec was accepted onto Western Australia’s Process Control Technologies Panel, expected to deliver around $50 million in services over five years. Meanwhile, Synertec has maintained a continuous relationship with Melbourne Water since 2007, providing 24/7 automation and control systems engineering support.

Synertec’s Managing Director, Michael Carroll, highlighted the strategic significance of these developments, noting that the company’s focused water industry engagement strategy is beginning to yield tangible results. Being prequalified on panels across three major states positions Synertec to capitalize on growing demand for mission-critical control system engineering services in Australia’s water sector.

Technology and Services Scope

Under the Sydney Water panel, Synertec will deliver a range of engineering solutions, including control systems, electrical and instrumentation work, communication systems, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and cybersecurity services. These capabilities are vital for maintaining and upgrading the infrastructure that supports water, wastewater, recycled water, and stormwater services for over five million people in Sydney and surrounding regions.

While the panel appointment does not guarantee immediate work, it effectively prequalifies Synertec for a substantial volume of projects, reinforcing its position as a leading provider of operational technology services in the water industry.
