The drilling has identified an extensive copper mineralised zone stretching over 850 metres, with thick intervals ranging from 15 to 27 metres averaging between 0.09% and 0.12% copper. Notably, peak copper grades reached as high as 1.64%, indicating zones of higher tenor within the broader mineralised system.

Geophysical Validation and Geological Context

The copper mineralisation aligns closely with previously conducted geophysical surveys, specifically Induced Polarisation (IP) and Electromagnetic (EM) models. This strong spatial correlation not only validates the effectiveness of these survey techniques at Dasserat but also boosts confidence in their application across other targets within the Dufay Project. The mineralisation is structurally controlled, hosted in metasedimentary rocks such as greywacke and siltstone, and is associated with stockwork quartz veining adjacent to a syenite porphyry intrusive body.

Depth and Grade Implications

Interestingly, drill results suggest that copper grades increase with depth, a feature that could enhance the economic potential of the deposit if confirmed by further drilling. While no significant gold mineralisation was detected in the current drilling campaign, the geological setting near the Cadillac Break; a region known for world-class gold and copper deposits; adds strategic value to the discovery. The proximity to the 1.4 million-ounce Galloway gold deposit and the Rouyn-Noranda mining centre further underscores the project's potential.

Next Steps and Exploration Outlook

Olympio’s exploration team is actively reviewing the drill core and conducting detailed mapping at Dasserat. Plans are underway to undertake deeper IP surveys to better understand the vertical extent and orientation of the copper mineralisation, as the initial IP survey had limited penetration depth. The company also aims to investigate the possible genetic relationship between the copper mineralisation and the nearby syenite porphyry. Additional drilling and geophysical work are anticipated to expand the known mineralised zones and refine the geological model.
