Significant Discovery in the Paterson Province

Antipa Minerals Ltd (ASX, AZY) has announced a major breakthrough at its 100%-owned Minyari Gold-Copper Project, located in the prolific Paterson Province of Western Australia. The first batch of assay results from the ongoing CY2025 Phase 1 drilling program reveals a significant new gold-copper discovery south of the Fiama and Rizzo deposits, highlighted by a standout intersection of 21 metres grading 1.8 grams per tonne gold and 0.06% copper from near surface.

Resource Extensions and New Targets

Beyond this discovery, the drilling has confirmed meaningful extensions to known mineralisation at the GEO-01 Deposit Main Zone, particularly at depth, with high-grade zones such as 15 metres at 2.0 g/t gold and 0.04% copper from 336 metres downhole. Multiple other deposits including Minella and Fiama also show promising extensions, reinforcing the scalability of the existing resource base.

The program, which comprises 288 holes totaling 34,000 metres of air core, reverse circulation, and diamond core drilling, is designed to both grow the existing 2.4 million ounce gold resource and explore greenfield targets across Antipa’s expansive 4,100 square kilometre tenement package. Early results, representing roughly 29-30% of assays received, validate the company’s dual-track exploration strategy of resource growth combined with new discoveries.

Strategic Positioning and Project Advancement

Antipa’s Managing Director, Roger Mason, emphasized the significance of these results, noting that the newly defined gold-copper zone south of Fiama and Rizzo marks a step-change for the broader Minyari Gold-Copper Project. With drilling ongoing and a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) advancing, the company is positioning Minyari Dome as a standout development opportunity in the Paterson Province, a region already home to major operations such as Greatland Gold’s Telfer mine and recent discoveries by Rio Tinto-Sumitomo.

The PFS workstreams are progressing alongside the drilling, with resource definition drilling now underway using diamond core rigs. The company is also expanding its in-house technical and study capabilities to support the project’s advancement.

Exploration Outlook and Market Implications

While the Parklands target returned limited low-grade mineralisation in initial drilling, multiple other greenfield targets remain high priority for follow-up. The mineralisation at key deposits remains open in several directions, suggesting further resource growth potential. An updated Mineral Resource Estimate incorporating the CY2025 Phase 1 results is expected in the third quarter of 2025, which will provide a clearer picture of the project’s scale and economic potential.
