APC Minerals Limited (ASX – APC) has released the results of its recent reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Laverton Downs Gold Project in Western Australia. The program, completed in April 2025, comprised 22 holes totalling 2,628 metres and aimed to follow up on historical drilling and validate structural gold targets identified in a 2019 CSA Global report.
The drilling confirmed a consistent trend of gold mineralisation associated with sheared mafic basalts and ultramafic hanging wall transition zones along the Lancefield Gold Trend. Notably, the program returned encouraging intercepts such as 4 metres at 1.2 grams per tonne gold from 104 metres depth and a standout 1 metre at 4.02 grams per tonne gold from the same depth in hole LD25RC012.
Geological Insights and Structural Controls
The mineralisation appears to be hosted within shear zones in mafic basalts, often accompanied by minor sulfides and quartz veins. The geological interpretation suggests a relatively flat-lying stratigraphy dipping about 30 degrees east, with ultramafic komatiite units underlying the mineralised basalts. This setting is somewhat atypical compared to the nearby Lancefield deposits but offers promising structural traps for gold precipitation.
Drilling in the southern sections of the project area revealed a stronger presence of gold mineralisation over a strike length of approximately 500 metres, while northern sections confirmed mineralisation over 1,100 metres north of the southern zone. These results highlight a large, contiguous gold-bearing system with significant strike potential that remains largely untested at depth.

The Laverton Downs Project covers six exploration licenses approximately 15 kilometres north of Laverton, an established gold mining region hosting major deposits such as Lancefield, Sunrise Dam, and Granny Smith. APC’s project area benefits from proximity to these significant operations and shares similar geological trends.
Managing Director Matt Shackleton emphasized the focus on the southern area for the next phase of exploration, aiming to extend the known mineralisation at depth and along strike.
