Warriedar Unveils Australia’s Largest Open-Pit Antimony Resource and Raises A$21M
Warriedar Resources has announced a landmark mineral resource upgrade at its Ricciardo deposit, now home to Australia’s largest open-pit antimony resource, alongside significant gold discoveries and a successful A$21 million capital raise to accelerate exploration.
- Maiden antimony resource of 12.2 Mt @ 0.5% Sb at Ricciardo
- Ricciardo MRE doubles to 1.96 Moz AuEq at 2.5 g/t AuEq
- Golden Range and Fields Find projects total 31 Mt @ 2.3 g/t AuEq for 2.3 Moz AuEq
- Visible gold assays up to 1,148 g/t at Ricciardo’s Ardmore zone
- A$21 million capital raising completed to fund accelerated drilling
A New Benchmark in Australian Antimony Resources
Warriedar Resources Limited (ASX, WA8) has delivered a significant milestone with the declaration of Australia’s largest open-pit antimony resource at its Ricciardo deposit, part of the Golden Range Project in Western Australia. The maiden antimony Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) totals 12.2 million tonnes at 0.5% antimony (Sb), containing 60,300 tonnes of antimony, a critical mineral increasingly in global demand.
This resource upgrade has propelled the total Ricciardo MRE to 1.96 million ounces gold equivalent (AuEq), a 107% increase from previous estimates, at an average grade of 2.5 g/t AuEq. When combined with the broader Golden Range and Fields Find projects, Warriedar now controls a substantial 31 million tonnes at 2.3 g/t AuEq, equating to 2.3 million ounces AuEq.
High-Grade Gold and Antimony Intersections Signal Upside
Adding to the excitement, recent drilling at the Ardmore zone within Ricciardo has revealed visible gold in core samples, with assays returning an extraordinary 2 meters at 116.3 g/t gold, including a blistering 0.2 meters at 1,148 g/t gold. These results suggest the presence of a previously unrecognized style of high-grade free-milling gold mineralisation, potentially enhancing the deposit’s economic profile.
Further drilling has extended high-grade antimony-gold shoots at Ardmore, with intercepts such as 24 meters at 0.99% Sb and 1.55 g/t Au, underscoring the consistency and scale of mineralisation. Mineralogical studies confirm stibnite as the dominant antimony mineral, which bodes well for metallurgical processing.
Expanding Antimony Potential Beyond Ricciardo
Warriedar’s exploration efforts have also identified significant antimony mineralisation at the Azure Coast deposit group, approximately 4 km south of Ricciardo. A re-assay program of historical drill samples confirmed high-grade antimony zones beneath gold-dominant mineralisation, with intervals such as 8 meters at 1.73% Sb. This discovery opens new avenues for resource growth along the Golden Range shear corridor.
Strong Financial Position Fuels Aggressive Exploration
To capitalize on these promising results, Warriedar successfully raised A$21 million through a combination of an institutional placement and an oversubscribed Share Purchase Plan. This capital injection strengthens the company’s balance sheet, with cash reserves of approximately A$24.4 million and zero debt as of June 30, 2025, enabling an accelerated drilling program targeting further resource expansion and metallurgical studies.
Meanwhile, in Nevada, Warriedar’s Big Springs Project, a Carlin-type gold deposit, is advancing through permitting stages, with a key regulatory meeting scheduled to discuss the next phase of exploration approvals.
Looking Ahead
Warriedar’s strategic focus on both gold and critical minerals like antimony positions it well amid shifting global supply dynamics and rising commodity prices. The company’s ongoing drilling campaigns and metallurgical testing will be closely watched as they have the potential to unlock further value and shape the future development of these assets.
Bottom Line?
Warriedar’s resource leap and robust funding set the stage for a transformative year in gold and antimony exploration.
Questions in the middle?
- How will ongoing assay results from Ricciardo’s drilling impact the current resource estimates?
- What are the potential processing and economic implications of the newly discovered high-grade visible gold zones?
- How might regulatory developments affect the timeline and scope of exploration at the Big Springs Project in Nevada?
