Talisman Mining has commenced a focused Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program at the Sheepyard Prospect within its Walkers Hill Project, located roughly 60km northwest of Condobolin in New South Wales. This initial six-hole, 900-metre campaign aims to test a large, coherent gold-in-soil geochemical anomaly that stretches approximately 10km by 2.5km, making it the largest such anomaly in the district.
The project area has a history of shallow drilling that encountered encouraging near-surface gold mineralisation, including intercepts of 40 metres at 0.46 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from just 3 metres depth. These historical results, combined with a strong Pole-Dipole Induced Polarisation (PDIP) geophysical anomaly detected beneath the mineralised zones, suggest the presence of a potentially extensive gold system.
Historical Data and Modern Techniques Align
Previous exploration by Triako Exploration and Paradigm Resources laid the groundwork by identifying significant soil geochemical trends and conducting limited RC drilling. The recent re-analysis and integration of these datasets by Talisman’s team have refined target zones, particularly at Sheepyard, where the current drilling is focused. The PDIP survey completed in 2023 revealed a chargeability anomaly beneath the historical drill intercepts, providing a compelling geophysical signature that the current drilling program seeks to test at depths up to 200 metres.

In parallel, Talisman has completed a 13-kilometre ground geophysical survey at its Yarindury Project, situated about 30km northeast of Dubbo. This survey employed Induced Polarisation and Magneto-Telluric methods to investigate prominent magnetic anomalies within the Molong Volcanic Belt, a region known for porphyry copper-gold deposits. The data is currently under processing, with drill testing of generated targets planned for the September quarter of 2025.
The Yarindury Project lies along a mineralised corridor that hosts major operations such as Alkane Resources’ Boda-Kaiser Project and Newmont’s Cadia mine, underscoring its prospective potential. Talisman’s exploration here aims to identify shallower drill targets that could yield significant discoveries.
