Refining the Search for Uranium

Infini Resources Limited has announced a significant update to its exploration strategy at the Portland Creek Uranium Project in Newfoundland. Following a detailed review of structural geology, geochemical, and geophysical data, the company has refined its exploration model to better understand the controls on uranium mineralisation. This work has identified twelve high-priority drill targets linked to previously untested East-West fault systems, which appear to host hydrothermal uranium veins.

The refined model suggests that these East-West faults, interpreted as shallow and near-vertical structures outcropping on the bluff face, are key conduits for uranium mineralisation. Soil sampling has revealed exceptionally high uranium concentrations, with peak values reaching nearly 7.5% U3O8, indicating the potential presence of primary uranium deposits beneath the surface.

A Flexible and Data-Driven Drilling Campaign

Building on these insights, Infini has developed a 2,500-metre Phase 2 diamond drilling program scheduled to commence later in Q3 2025. The program is designed with flexibility in mind, allowing the company to adjust drillhole locations, orientations, and depths based on real-time geological data. Initial drillholes will target the subcropping East-West faults to test for primary uranium mineralisation and associated hydrothermal alteration.

Supporting the drilling campaign, additional structural mapping and rock-chip sampling will be conducted to refine target areas and optimize drillhole placement. Infini’s geological team will be closely involved in the field to enable agile decision-making, ensuring the program can rapidly respond to early results and scale accordingly.

Strategic Importance of Portland Creek

The Portland Creek Project covers a 149 square kilometre area within the Precambrian Long-Range Complex, a region known for uranium potential. Historical data combined with recent exploration has delineated a 6-kilometre corridor of anomalous uranium and radon gas, closely associated with a major fault scarp. The discovery of uranium-bearing granite boulders and mineralised veins on the cliff face further supports the presence of in-situ mineralisation along these fault zones.
