Olympio Metals Unveils High-Grade Gold Hits at Bousquet’s Paquin Prospect

Strong Start at Paquin Prospect

Olympio Metals Limited (ASX – OLY) has kicked off its maiden drilling program at the Bousquet Project in Quebec with encouraging results. The first two diamond drill holes at the Paquin Prospect have intersected multiple zones of high-grade gold mineralisation, confirming the prospect’s potential as a significant gold discovery.

The standout intercepts include 5.4 metres grading 7.6 grams per tonne gold (g/t Au), featuring a high-grade core of 0.35 metres at 42.3 g/t Au, and 7.9 metres at 6.2 g/t Au, including 1.3 metres at 17.0 g/t Au. Visible gold was observed in the core samples, underscoring the quality of the mineralisation.

Extending the Mineralised Corridor

These results extend the known strike length of gold mineralisation at Paquin to over 300 metres, with the zone remaining open to both the east and west. The new intercepts lie approximately 60 metres along strike from a historic high-grade intercept of 9 metres at 16.96 g/t Au, suggesting continuity and potential for further expansion.

Olympio’s Managing Director, Sean Delaney, expressed optimism about the project’s prospects, highlighting the extensive strike length of over 3 kilometres with multiple targets. The ongoing drilling program, which has completed 13 holes to date, aims to test these targets and potentially connect known mineralised zones.

Strategic Location and Geological Context

The Bousquet Project is strategically located on the Cadillac Break, a renowned regional structure associated with world-class gold deposits exceeding 110 million ounces. It lies within 15 kilometres of major producing gold mines such as Agnico Eagle’s La Ronde and Iamgold’s Westwood, lending further credibility to the prospectivity of the area.

Geologically, the Paquin Prospect hosts gold within quartz-carbonate veins and sulphide mineralisation in greywacke and related rock units. The mineralisation style and structural setting are consistent with other significant gold deposits in the region.

Broader Exploration and Next Steps

Beyond Paquin, Olympio is advancing drilling at the Amadee and Decoeur Extension prospects, both showing promising geological features and historical gold occurrences. Assay results from these areas are anticipated in the coming weeks, which could further enhance the project’s value.

While the initial results are promising, the company cautions that true widths of mineralisation have yet to be calculated and further drilling and analysis are required to fully understand the deposit’s scale and economic potential.
