Tali Resources Targets Five Prospects for August Drilling at West Arunta
Tali Resources has completed detailed geophysical modelling on five key prospects within its West Arunta Project, confirming priorities for an imminent drilling campaign scheduled for August 2025.
- Five prospects, Chilka, Lonar, Maton B, Maton C, and Gibson East, prioritized for drilling
- Geophysical anomalies indicate potential IOCG and sediment-hosted copper mineralisation
- Heritage clearances and drilling approvals secured, with site prep underway
- Drilling planned to use reverse circulation method starting August 2025
- Exploration Incentive Scheme grant supports Maton prospect drilling
Geophysical Insights Drive Drilling Plans
Tali Resources Ltd (ASX – TR2) has advanced its exploration efforts at the West Arunta Project with the completion of further geophysical modelling on five high-priority prospects – Chilka, Lonar, Maton B, Maton C, and Gibson East. This modelling has refined the understanding of subsurface anomalies, highlighting significant magnetic, gravity, and electromagnetic features that warrant immediate drill testing.
The company plans to commence a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program in August 2025, targeting these prospects to test for mineralisation styles including iron oxide copper gold (IOCG) and sediment-hosted copper deposits. Heritage clearances and drilling approvals are already in place, underscoring the project’s readiness to move forward.
Prospect Highlights and Geological Context
The Chilka prospect exhibits a large, complex magnetic and gravity anomaly spanning nearly 6 kilometres, with modelled sources at depths between 50 and 150 metres. Its proximity to the Pokali prospect, known for copper mineralisation with IOCG affinity, adds to its appeal.
Lonar features a discrete circular anomaly approximately 1.2 kilometres in diameter, with coincident magnetic and gravity highs suggesting pipe-like source bodies. Both Chilka and Lonar lack significant outcrop, making geophysical data crucial for targeting.
Maton B and Maton C prospects are defined by strong late-time airborne electromagnetic anomalies, interpreted to be within the Amadeus Basin’s metasedimentary environment. These targets are prospective for sediment-hosted copper mineralisation, with drilling supported by a $180,000 Exploration Incentive Scheme grant.
Gibson East, a newly added prospect, shows a semi-coincident gravity and magnetic anomaly near the Central Australian Suture, indicating potential for mineralisation at shallow depths.
Strategic Implications and Next Steps
Managing Director Rhys Bradley emphasised the importance of the geophysical work in refining drill targets and adding Gibson East to the program. The upcoming drilling campaign represents a critical step in validating the geophysical anomalies and advancing the West Arunta Project towards potential resource definition.
While the drilling locations are planned, the program remains flexible to adapt to operational conditions. Investors will be watching closely for assay results and any updates on exploration progress as the campaign unfolds.
Bottom Line?
August’s drilling campaign will be a pivotal moment for Tali Resources as it seeks to convert geophysical promise into tangible mineral discoveries.
Questions in the middle?
- What initial assay results will reveal about the mineralisation at these five prospects?
- Could the addition of Gibson East signal further expansion of the drilling program?
- How might the Exploration Incentive Scheme grant impact the pace and scale of exploration at Maton?
