Bellchambers Gold Resource Hits 19,130 Ounces at 1.36 g/t After 2025 Drilling
Venus Metals Corporation has updated its Mineral Resource Estimate for the Bellchambers Gold Deposit and Rangeview Prospect near Sandstone, revealing a notable increase in measured resources and securing a mining lease that advances the project towards development.
- Updated Mineral Resource Estimate totals 19,130 ounces at 1.36 g/t Au within optimised pit
- Measured resource category significantly increased following 2025 drilling program
- Mining lease M57/671 granted, enabling progression to development planning
- Rangeview Prospect defined for the first time with potential for resource growth
- Comprehensive metallurgical testing and environmental surveys underway
Resource Update Highlights Growth
Venus Metals Corporation has released an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for its Bellchambers Gold Deposit and the adjacent Rangeview Prospect, located approximately 25 kilometres south of Sandstone in Western Australia. The update follows a comprehensive reverse circulation drilling campaign completed in April 2025, which comprised 34 holes totaling 1,749 metres. This drilling aimed to confirm and infill key mineralised zones, resulting in a significant uplift in the measured resource category.
The combined Bellchambers and Rangeview resource now stands at 19,130 ounces of gold at an average grade of 1.36 grams per tonne within an optimised pit shell using a 0.5 g/t cutoff. Notably, the measured resource alone accounts for 8,730 ounces at 1.45 g/t Au, reflecting increased confidence in the deposit's continuity and grade.
Mining Lease Granted and Development Progress
Crucially, Venus Metals has secured mining lease M57/671 covering both Bellchambers and Rangeview, a pivotal step that clears a major regulatory hurdle towards project development. The company has engaged key consultants to assist with the Mining Development and Closure Proposal (MDCP), which includes environmental baseline studies such as flora and fauna surveys, surface hydrology assessments, and waste characterisation.
These preparatory activities underscore Venus Metals’ commitment to responsible development and regulatory compliance. Meanwhile, metallurgical testwork on seven representative samples is underway, with results expected shortly. Early indications suggest promising recoveries, but the final data will be critical to refining processing strategies and economic assessments.
Geological Context and Resource Confidence
The Bellchambers deposit lies within the Archaean greenstone belt, characterised by folded meta-basalt and banded iron formations hosting gold mineralisation predominantly associated with shear zones. The updated resource model, developed using Ordinary Kriging techniques and validated through multiple methods, confirms two main mineralised shoots extending to depths of up to 140 metres. Importantly, the deposit remains open at depth, suggesting potential for further resource expansion with additional drilling.
The Rangeview Prospect, located two kilometres northeast of Bellchambers, has been defined as a small but promising resource for the first time, classified as Indicated. This opens new avenues for exploration and resource growth within the project area.
Looking Ahead
Venus Metals’ methodical approach to resource definition, combined with the granted mining lease and ongoing environmental and metallurgical studies, positions the Bellchambers project on a clear path towards development. While the resource update enhances the project’s economic potential, the pending metallurgical results and MDCP outcomes will be key milestones to watch as they will influence the feasibility and timing of mining operations.
Bottom Line?
With measured resources rising and a mining lease secured, Venus Metals is poised to unlock Bellchambers’ potential; but metallurgical and environmental results will shape the next phase.
Questions in the middle?
- How will upcoming metallurgical test results impact processing plans and project economics?
- What timelines are anticipated for the completion and approval of the Mining Development and Closure Proposal?
- Could further drilling at depth or around Rangeview significantly expand the resource base?
