Yandal Resources Uncovers Over 2.2km of Gold Mineralisation at Arrakis

Exploration Breakthrough at Caladan

Yandal Resources Ltd (ASX – YRL) has unveiled compelling new results from its ongoing air-core drilling program at the Caladan target area, part of the broader Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project in Western Australia. The latest batch of assays has extended the known strike of the Arrakis gold mineralised structure to over 2.2 kilometres, a significant milestone in the company’s quest to delineate a large-scale gold system within the prolific Yandal Greenstone Belt.

The Arrakis structure, hosted within sheared and altered dolerite, has now been intercepted across six drill lines and remains open to the northwest and southeast, suggesting further potential for expansion. Noteworthy intercepts include 22 metres at 0.5 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 75 metres depth, including a higher-grade 7 metres at 1.2 g/t, and 9 metres at 1.2 g/t gold, with a standout 1 metre interval grading 7.7 g/t. These results underscore the presence of a mineralised system that is both extensive and potentially rich.

Indications of a Parallel Mineralised Structure

Beyond Arrakis, the drilling has also revealed evidence of a possible second dolerite-hosted mineralised structure located approximately 600 metres southwest. This parallel trend, associated with a strong regolith anomaly, returned intercepts such as 9 metres at 1.2 g/t gold, hinting at multiple mineralised corridors within the Caladan area. Confirmation of this second structure could significantly enhance the overall resource potential.

Next Steps in Exploration

Yandal Resources is poised to advance its exploration with a follow-up reverse circulation (RC) drilling program scheduled to commence shortly. This next phase aims to test mineralisation continuity beneath the recent air-core intercepts within fresh rock, providing critical data on the geometry and grade distribution of the mineralised zones. Concurrently, heritage surveys are planned to facilitate closer-spaced drilling lines, enabling more detailed infill drilling and strike extension testing.

Managing Director Chris Oorschot highlighted the significance of these early-stage results, noting that the broad-spaced air-core program’s success in delineating a large-scale mineralised structure is rare and promising. The company’s strategy now focuses on identifying the thickest and highest-grade portions of the system, which will be pivotal in defining the economic potential of the project.

Strategic Location and Broader Context

The Caladan target area lies within a highly prospective region, situated 60 kilometres south of the established Jundee mining complex and 18 kilometres north of the recent Siona discovery. The Yandal Greenstone Belt has a rich history of gold production, and Yandal Resources’ portfolio of projects in this belt positions it well to capitalize on emerging opportunities. The ongoing exploration at Caladan complements the company’s broader efforts across multiple advanced gold projects in the region.

With 122 air-core holes completed and results pending from the remaining 14, the company’s exploration momentum is strong. The combination of extensive strike length, encouraging grades, and multiple mineralised trends suggests that Caladan could evolve into a significant new gold discovery within the Yandal Greenstone Belt.
