Strong Assay Results at Jura Confirm Scale and Grade

Somerset Minerals Limited (ASX – SMM) has delivered encouraging assay results from its Phase-1 reverse circulation drilling campaign at the Coppermine Project in Nunavut, Canada. The company’s flagship Jura prospect continues to impress with thick, high-grade copper mineralisation confirmed over a strike length exceeding 3 kilometres within a broader 7-kilometre mineralised fault zone. Notable intercepts include 42.7 metres at 2.69% copper from near surface and 10.7 metres at 2.55% copper, highlighting both the tenor and continuity of mineralisation.

Advancing Phase-2 Exploration with Multiple Techniques

Building on these results, Somerset is progressing its Phase-2 exploration program, which includes four completed drill holes at Jura, alongside ground-based electromagnetic and induced polarisation surveys to test extensions at Jura North. Concurrently, a regional geochemical till sampling program is underway, with approximately 15% completed, and an 11,000 line-kilometre airborne magnetic survey is scheduled to commence imminently. This multi-pronged approach aims to delineate resources at priority targets while identifying new copper discoveries across the extensive 1,665 km² landholding.

District-Scale Potential Across Multiple Prospects

The Coppermine Project encompasses several key districts beyond Jura, including Laphroaig and Coronation, each demonstrating promising copper mineralisation styles. At Laphroaig, drilling at the Larry prospect intersected 19.8 metres of copper mineralisation from surface, while Coronation drilling confirmed widespread, albeit lower-grade, copper associated with hematite alteration. These results underscore the widespread nature of copper mineralising fluids across the project area, which extends over 100 kilometres of prospective strike.

Somerset’s exploration strategy leverages modern geophysical and geochemical techniques to unlock the potential of a region that has seen limited meaningful exploration since the 1960s.
