Noronex Limited has confirmed deeper, higher-grade copper mineralisation at its Fiesta Project in Namibia through diamond drilling, setting the stage for a substantial 7,000m Reverse Circulation drilling campaign funded by South32.

  • Diamond drilling confirms deeper copper zones with high-grade assays
  • 3 diamond holes completed at Fiesta; results pending for one hole
  • 7,000m RC drilling campaign to commence soon at Powerline Prospect
  • Exploration funded under South32 earn-in agreement

Deeper Copper Mineralisation Confirmed at Fiesta

Noronex Limited (ASX – NRX) has reported encouraging results from its maiden diamond drilling program at the Fiesta Copper Project in Namibia. The recent drilling has confirmed the presence of deeper copper mineralisation zones, with assays revealing higher-grade copper and silver intercepts than previously recorded through Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling.

Notably, hole 25FIEDD027 intersected 3 metres at 2.13% copper and 97 grams per tonne silver from 408 metres depth, significantly extending known mineralisation below earlier intercepts. This deeper mineralisation appears to be structurally controlled, with steeply dipping bedding and shear zones hosting disseminated copper sulphides such as bornite, chalcocite, and chalcopyrite.

Strategic Partnership with South32 Drives Exploration

The diamond drilling program at Fiesta was funded by South32 Limited through a previously announced earn-in agreement, under which South32 can earn up to a 60% interest by funding exploration activities. This partnership underscores the strategic importance of the Kalahari Copper Belt, a prolific sediment-hosted copper province extending into Botswana and Namibia.

With three diamond holes completed at Fiesta and results pending from one, Noronex is now preparing for a major 7,000-metre RC drilling campaign at the nearby Powerline Prospect. This upcoming program aims to test multiple regional targets identified along large domal structures and fold hinge zones, which are analogous to major operating copper mines in Botswana.

Exploration Targets and Regional Potential

The Powerline Prospect drilling will focus on the Ngwako Pan Formation–D’Kar Formation contact, a key geological horizon hosting copper mineralisation. Historical drilling across the Humpback Project area has identified numerous anomalous copper zones with encouraging silver-to-copper ratios, suggesting significant upside potential.

Noronex’s exploration approach combines modern geological interpretation with extensive historical data, aiming to delineate substantial copper resources. The company’s broader portfolio includes advanced projects in Namibia, Botswana, and Canada, with a current JORC resource of 10 million tonnes at 1.3% copper at its Witvlei Project.

Looking Ahead

As Noronex advances its drilling programs, the market will be watching closely for further assay results and updates on resource growth. The collaboration with South32 provides both financial backing and technical expertise, positioning Noronex to potentially unlock significant value from its Kalahari Copper Belt assets.

Bottom Line?

Noronex’s confirmation of deeper, higher-grade copper zones at Fiesta sets a promising tone as it embarks on a large-scale drilling campaign that could reshape its resource profile.

Questions in the middle?

  • What will the pending assay results from the final diamond hole reveal about mineralisation continuity?
  • How will the upcoming 7,000m RC drilling campaign at Powerline impact resource estimates and project valuation?
  • What role will South32’s ongoing funding and expertise play in accelerating Noronex’s exploration success?
