Strategic Leadership Appointment

DigiCo Infrastructure REIT (ASX, DGT) has announced the appointment of Michael Juniper as a Director of HMC Digital Infrastructure Ltd and a senior executive within the HMC Capital Group’s Digital Infrastructure platform. This move is designed to bolster DigiCo’s operational, leasing, and development capabilities as it seeks to expand its footprint both domestically and internationally.

Juniper’s appointment is slated to be formalised ahead of HMC’s Annual General Meeting in November 2025, where he will stand for election by securityholders. His arrival signals a clear intent by DigiCo to accelerate its growth trajectory and enhance its position in the competitive data centre sector.

A Proven Track Record in Digital Infrastructure

With over two decades of experience, Michael Juniper is a recognized figure in the digital infrastructure space. He was a founding executive at AirTrunk, where he played a pivotal role in transforming the company from a nascent concept into one of the Asia-Pacific region’s leading data centre platforms. His leadership extended beyond Australia, spearheading AirTrunk’s expansion into key Asian markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Japan.

Prior to AirTrunk, Juniper held senior roles at Metronode, where he was instrumental in driving commercial growth and securing major enterprise and government contracts. His efforts helped position Metronode as a premier Australian data centre operator, culminating in its acquisition by global giant Equinix.

Growth and Sustainability at the Forefront

Juniper’s focus at DigiCo will be on strengthening the company’s operational excellence and expanding its leasing and development capabilities. The portfolio includes 13 data centres across Australia and North America, with a substantial development pipeline of 162MW, underscoring the company’s ambition to meet growing demand.

Importantly, Juniper emphasised DigiCo’s commitment to sustainability, highlighting the need for carbon-neutral pathways and innovative energy management solutions. With the rapid rise of AI and its associated power demands, DigiCo aims to deploy advanced cooling and construction technologies to maintain efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Positioning for the Future

CEO David Di Pilla expressed enthusiasm about Juniper’s appointment, noting his unique qualifications to help DigiCo evolve into a world-class data centre operator. Juniper himself conveyed optimism about unlocking the full potential of DigiCo’s strategic assets, including flagship sites like SYD1, and positioning the company as a partner of choice for global technology leaders.

This leadership addition comes at a pivotal time as DigiCo navigates a rapidly evolving digital infrastructure landscape, balancing growth ambitions with sustainability imperatives.

Bottom Line?

Michael Juniper’s arrival marks a strategic inflection point for DigiCo as it aims to scale operations and lead in sustainable data centre solutions.
