Winsome Resources (ASX – WR1) has announced promising exploration results from its 100% owned Sirmac-Clapier Project in Quebec’s Eeyou Istchee James Bay region. Recent field sampling has revealed multiple new zones of high-grade cesium and lithium mineralisation, expanding the footprint of this critical minerals project significantly.

Four new cesium prospects within a one-kilometre radius of the original discovery outcrop have returned assays exceeding 1% Cs₂O, with peak values reaching an impressive 4.20% Cs₂O. Lithium assays have also been encouraging, with samples showing up to 4.23% Li₂O. These results build on earlier findings from the 2024 field season, reinforcing the potential scale and quality of the mineralisation.

Mineralogical Confirmation and Strategic Implications

Crucially, mineralogical analysis has confirmed pollucite as the primary cesium-bearing mineral at Sirmac-Clapier. Pollucite is the main ore mineral mined globally for cesium, which suggests that the project could produce a saleable cesium product. This confirmation adds a layer of confidence to the project’s commercial prospects.

Additionally, the presence of significant rubidium assays alongside lithium and cesium hints at further value potential within the pegmatite system. The project’s location is also strategically advantageous, situated just 30 kilometres from provincial road infrastructure and close to other notable mining operations such as Sayona’s Moblan Lithium Deposit and the Troilus Gold Mine.

Winsome is now advancing plans for a drilling campaign scheduled for the winter of 2025. The recent detailed sampling has provided critical data on mineralisation trends and orientations, enabling precise drill targeting. Permitting and stakeholder engagement are underway, with site preparations expected to begin in October.
