Maiden Drilling Program Commences

InVert Graphite Limited (ASX, IVG) has embarked on its inaugural Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program at the Kumba Deposit, part of its wholly owned Morogoro Graphite Project in Tanzania. This initial campaign involves 1,300 metres of drilling across 13 holes, designed to follow up on impressive trench sampling results that revealed exceptionally high graphite grades, reaching up to 31.4% Total Graphitic Carbon (TGC).

The Kumba Deposit has already demonstrated significant surface mineralisation over a 2-kilometre strike length, with trench results consistently showing high-grade graphite. These findings have set the stage for drilling to test the depth and continuity of the graphite system, with the current program targeting mineralisation to approximately 80 metres vertical depth.

Building on Strong Trenching Results

Previous trenching at Kumba returned standout results such as 212 metres at 13.5% TGC, including intervals with grades as high as 29%, and other trenches showing similarly robust grades. These surface assays have provided a compelling rationale for drilling, aiming to confirm whether these high-grade zones extend at depth and along strike.

InVert’s CEO Andrew Lawson highlighted the significance of this milestone, noting that the drilling program is a crucial next step in unlocking the scale of the graphite system identified at surface. The company is optimistic that these efforts will underpin the development of Morogoro as a significant graphite project, complementing its broader strategic ambitions.

The maiden drilling is expected to be completed within approximately three weeks, with assay results anticipated four to six weeks thereafter. Meanwhile, a diamond drill rig is already en route to the project site, signaling plans for a second phase of drilling to further delineate the deposit.
