Monadelphous Strengthens Pilbara Presence

Monadelphous Group Limited (ASX – MND), a seasoned player in engineering and construction services, has announced the award of new contracts valued at approximately $220 million. These contracts, secured in the resource-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia, highlight the company's expanding role in supporting major mining infrastructure projects.

The centerpiece is a substantial contract with BHP for the Jimblebar Loadout Replacement Train Project near Newman. This multidisciplinary project encompasses civil earthworks, structural and mechanical construction, piping, electrical and instrumentation work, as well as offsite fabrication. Monadelphous will leverage its civil and fabrication divisions, including its Inteforge business, to deliver these complex services. The contract is slated for completion by late 2027, signaling a long-term engagement with one of Australia's largest mining operators.

Supporting Decarbonisation with Fortescue

In addition to the BHP contract, Monadelphous has secured a project with Fortescue Metals Group to construct the North Star Junction Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) near Port Hedland. This $140 million project aligns with Fortescue's commitment to decarbonising its operations by integrating renewable energy solutions. The BESS facility will play a critical role in stabilising power supply and reducing carbon emissions in the Pilbara mining operations. Completion is expected in the first half of 2026, marking a faster turnaround compared to the BHP project.
