Asian Battery Metals PLC (ASX – AZ9) has delivered a significant update from its 100%-owned Yambat Project in Western Mongolia, reporting encouraging results from its Phase 3 drilling campaign. The company’s focus on the Oval Cu-Ni-PGE intrusion has yielded expanded mineralisation zones, with drillhole OVD048 intercepting 16 metres of mineralised mafic intrusion near surface, extending known mineralisation by approximately 30 metres up-dip to the north. This extension reinforces the presence of a robust, vertically extensive copper-nickel-platinum group element (PGE) system.

Further confirmation came from the extended drillhole OVD011E, which intersected disseminated sulphide mineralisation and identified a deep conductive plate with a conductance of 8,665 Siemens. This supports the company’s feeder conduit model, suggesting a significant magmatic system with potential for both high-grade massive sulphide zones and broader bulk-tonnage mineralisation.

New Targets Signal District-Scale Potential

Recent Fixed Loop Electromagnetic (FLEM) and Moving Loop Electromagnetic (MLEM) surveys have delineated conductive plates coincident with magnetic highs and favourable geological structures. Notably, a high-conductance MLEM plate at Copper Ridge exhibits a conductance exceeding 10,000 Siemens, indicating potential sulphide accumulation. These findings expand the scope of exploration, pointing to a district-scale opportunity for copper-nickel and copper-gold sulphide systems.

Deeper Zones and Ongoing Exploration

Drilling at the MS1 intrusion has revealed promising mineralisation at depth, with drillhole SC11 intersecting nearly 30 metres of disseminated sulphide mineralisation. Downhole electromagnetic modelling suggests off-hole conductors that warrant further investigation in the upcoming Phase 4 drilling program. Meanwhile, ongoing due diligence drilling at the Maikhan Uul Cu-Au VMS project is progressing ahead of a potential acquisition, reflecting the company’s strategic expansion within Mongolia’s mineral-rich landscape.

Asian Battery Metals is awaiting assay results expected within the next two weeks, which will provide critical data to refine resource estimates and guide future drilling. Concurrently, mineralogy studies on composite samples and initial metallurgical testing are underway, aiming to better understand the ore characteristics and processing potential.
