Marmota Limited (ASX – MEU) has delivered a compelling update on its maiden drilling program at the Greenewood gold discovery in South Australia’s Gawler Craton. The initial results, announced earlier this month, showcased bonanza-grade gold intersections, including a standout 4-metre interval grading 43 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold. These findings mark the highest-grade intercept recorded at Greenewood to date and signal a significant step forward for the project.
The Greenewood deposit, part of the Golden Moon Joint Venture where Marmota holds a 90% stake, has now been delineated over an impressive 900-metre strike length. This near-continuous mineralisation zone was confirmed through a comprehensive reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign comprising 146 holes and totaling more than 15,000 metres. Greenewood sits within the so-called “Arc of Six” gold deposits in the northwest Gawler Craton, a region known for significant gold endowment including the nearby Challenger Mine, which has produced over a million ounces. Marmota’s ownership of five of these deposits, including Greenewood and Aurora Tank, positions the company strategically to leverage infrastructure and exploration knowledge across the belt.
