Orange Minerals NL (ASX, OMX) has unveiled striking rock chip assay results from its Lennon’s Find Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Surface samples taken along a 4.5-kilometre mineralised corridor returned silver grades as high as 2,948 grams per tonne, alongside notable concentrations of gold, copper, lead, and zinc. These findings underscore the prospectivity of the project and provide a compelling rationale for the upcoming deep drilling program.

Targeting a Deep Feeder Zone

The company is preparing to drill a 650-metre diamond hole in November to test a pronounced induced polarisation (IP) anomaly located beneath the existing near-surface resource. This anomaly is interpreted as a potential feeder zone to the known volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralisation, which hosts significant zinc, lead, silver, copper, and gold mineralisation within the Duffer Formation. Notably, the project has never been tested at depth before, making this drilling campaign a critical step in unlocking further value.

Government Support and Strategic Positioning

The drilling program benefits from a $110,930 grant under the Western Australian Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme, reflecting public sector confidence in the project’s potential. The Lennon’s Find Project, acquired through a staged earn-in agreement with Musketeer Mining Ltd, includes a mining lease and hosts five identified deposits along the mineralised trend, including Grey Nurse, Tiger, Hammerhead, Mako, and Bronze Whaler.

Geological Context and Historical Work

Situated within the Archean Marble Bar greenstone belt, the project’s mineralisation is typical of VMS deposits, characterised by stratiform sulphide bodies rich in zinc, lead, copper, silver, and gold. Historical exploration dating back to the late 1960s has laid the groundwork, with recent soil and geophysical surveys refining targets. The new rock chip sampling program has filled gaps in previous data, confirming the continuity and strength of the mineralised corridor.
