Adelong Gold Launches Regional Soil Sampling to Unlock Apollo’s Hidden Potential

Exploration Momentum Builds at Apollo

Adelong Gold Limited (ASX – ADG) has initiated a regional soil sampling campaign at its 100%-owned Apollo Gold Project in Victoria, marking a strategic step in expanding its exploration footprint. The program targets an 11-kilometre strike along the Strathbogie Granite contact, a geological feature known to host significant mineralisation. This initiative follows a recent successful maiden diamond drilling campaign that validated the company’s exploration model and confirmed substantial gold mineralisation within the Dig Fault Zone.

Targeting New Mineralised Structures

The soil sampling is designed as a broad-spaced reconnaissance program to detect anomalies indicative of mineralisation similar to that discovered at Apollo. Should these anomalies be identified, Adelong plans to follow up with detailed soil and rock chip sampling to refine targets. This approach reflects a methodical exploration strategy aimed at building a large-scale pipeline of prospects within the project area.

Project Expansion and Regional Significance

Earlier this year, Adelong lodged an exploration licence application that secured an additional 18 kilometres of granite contact, expanding the Apollo Project footprint to approximately 220 square kilometres. This expansion enhances the potential for discovering further mineralised zones along the highly prospective Strathbogie Granite corridor. The Apollo Project sits within Victoria’s Walhalla Gold Belt, a region renowned for high-grade gold deposits such as Southern Cross Gold’s Sunday Creek project, with which Apollo shares notable geological similarities.

Building Towards a Maiden Resource

Adelong’s Managing Director, Ian Holland, emphasised the significance of the regional program as a natural progression in understanding the broader geological setting of Apollo. The company is concurrently planning the next drilling phase, which will include infill drilling to support a maiden resource estimate and step-out drilling to test the depth and strike extensions of known mineralisation. These efforts, combined with exploration at the nearby Lauriston Project, aim to position Apollo as a cornerstone asset within Adelong’s Victorian portfolio.

Adelong Gold’s portfolio extends beyond Apollo, encompassing the Lauriston Gold and Antimony Project, which hosts high-grade discoveries adjacent to the prolific Fosterville Mine, and the flagship Adelong Goldfield Project in New South Wales. Additionally, the company holds a lithium portfolio in Brazil, providing exposure to the energy transition sector.
