Rubicon Water Secures A$8.3M in Contracts Across US, Italy, and Australia
Rubicon Water has landed four key contracts worth A$8.3 million across the US, Italy, and Australia, marking a strong start to its FY26 sales pipeline and introducing a novel private ESG funding source in the US.
- A$2.3 million US contract funded by private ESG initiative
- A$1.4 million irrigation automation project awarded in Italy
- Additional A$1.2 million contract signed with long-term Australian customer
- Four contracts secured early in FY26 from an 18-project pipeline worth A$122 million
- New funding model emerging through private water stewardship investments
Global Expansion and New Funding Models
Australian water technology firm Rubicon Water Limited (ASX – RWL) has announced a series of contract wins totaling A$8.3 million, spanning three continents. These contracts represent the first four awards from a robust 12-month sales pipeline comprising 18 strategic projects valued at A$122 million, underscoring the company’s accelerating growth trajectory in FY26.
Notably, Rubicon secured a US$1.5 million (A$2.3 million) contract with the Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District (GCID) in California’s Sacramento Valley. This project is distinguished by its funding source – a private entity committed to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and water stewardship objectives. This marks Rubicon’s inaugural contract in the US financed through private sustainability commitments, signaling a potentially transformative funding avenue for future projects.
Strengthening European Presence
In Italy, Rubicon was awarded a A$1.4 million contract by Consorzio Canale Emiliano Romagnolo (CER), a respected water authority in northern Italy. This project is the second phase of an ongoing automation program aimed at upgrading irrigation infrastructure across Emilia-Romagna, a region critical to European agriculture. The contract will see Rubicon automate 45 additional irrigation offtakes, enhancing water efficiency over an irrigated area exceeding 300,000 hectares.
These wins build on Rubicon’s record A$7.4 million of contracted business in Italy during FY25, reflecting growing adoption of its technology in Europe’s vital irrigation networks.
Domestic Growth and Market Momentum
Back home in Australia, Rubicon signed a A$1.2 million contract with a long-term irrigation district customer to upgrade automated delivery systems. This deal contributes to the company’s stable base revenues and complements its international expansion efforts.
CEO Bruce Rodgerson highlighted the strategic significance of these contracts, emphasizing the emerging role of private ESG funding in the US and the company’s strong momentum across key markets. He noted that the combination of recent contract awards, including those announced earlier this week, positions Rubicon well to execute its growth platform and deliver on its FY26 targets.
Rubicon’s projects focus on modernising irrigation operations, reducing water losses, and supporting sustainable agricultural productivity amid increasing global water demand pressures.
Bottom Line?
Rubicon’s early FY26 contract wins and innovative funding partnerships set the stage for a potentially transformative year in global water technology.
Questions in the middle?
