Paris Gold Extensions Signal Growing Resource but True Widths Remain Uncertain

Mining By Maxwell Dee 3 min read

Torque Metals reports robust step-out drilling results at its Paris Gold Project in Western Australia, revealing multiple high-grade gold lodes extending well beyond current resource boundaries. New conductor plates identified by electromagnetic surveys signal significant exploration upside.

  • High-grade gold intercepts extend Paris lodes by up to 200m
  • New DHEM conductor plates reveal further mineralisation potential
  • Paris Gold Project strike lengths now exceed 500m in key lodes
  • Second RC rig deployed to accelerate drilling across 6km trend
  • Current Mineral Resource Estimate stands at 250,000 ounces gold

Expanding the Paris Gold System

Torque Metals (ASX, TOR) has delivered a compelling update from its Paris Gold Project in Western Australia, reporting strong step-out drilling results that continue to expand the known gold mineralisation across multiple lodes. The latest assays include standout intercepts such as 12 metres at 6.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from a depth of 505 metres and 8 metres at 5 g/t gold, pushing the boundaries of the Paris Main/West and Southwest lodes well beyond previous limits.

These results not only extend the strike lengths of key mineralised zones; up to approximately 526 metres in the Southwest lode; but also confirm the presence of new conductor plates identified through downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveys. These plates, such as the newly defined C23, suggest mineralisation plunges extending an additional 130 metres, highlighting the potential for further resource growth.

Strategic Use of DHEM and Accelerated Drilling

The integration of DHEM surveys with drilling has been pivotal in targeting extensions of pyrrhotite-associated gold mineralisation. Torque’s Managing Director, Cristian Moreno, emphasised the significance of these geophysical tools in validating and guiding exploration. With a second reverse circulation (RC) rig now operational on site, the company plans to accelerate drilling efforts not only at Paris but also at adjacent prospects such as Paris South, Observation, and HHH, applying the proven DHEM targeting strategy across the 6-kilometre Paris trend.

This approach aims to replicate the success seen at Paris, potentially unlocking new mineralised zones along a largely underexplored 57-kilometre strike length within the Paris Exploration Camp. The project’s strategic location near established gold producers like Westgold’s Beta Hunt and St Ives Goldfields further enhances its development prospects.

Resource Context and Exploration Upside

The current Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for the Paris Gold Project stands at approximately 250,000 ounces of gold at an average grade of 3.1 g/t. Importantly, the recent drilling results lie outside the existing resource model, indicating substantial upside potential. The discovery of multiple continuous mineralised lodes, supported by geophysical data, reinforces the view of Paris as a robust, multi-lode gold system with significant room for expansion both at depth and along strike.

Historical exploration in the region has been limited, and Torque’s methodical exploration program is beginning to reveal the true scale and complexity of the mineralisation. The company’s ongoing work, including plans to redrill collapsed holes and further refine structural interpretations, will be critical in converting these exploration successes into resource growth.

Looking Ahead

Torque Metals is poised to build on this momentum with an intensified drilling campaign and expanded geophysical surveys. The combination of high-grade intercepts, new conductor plates, and a strategic exploration framework positions the Paris Gold Project as a compelling opportunity in the Western Australian gold sector. Investors will be watching closely as the company advances its understanding of this multi-lode system and works towards upgrading its resource base.

Bottom Line?

With multiple high-grade lodes extending beyond current resources, Torque Metals is set to redefine the scale of its Paris Gold Project.

Questions in the middle?

  • How will upcoming assay results from ongoing drilling influence the next resource update?
  • What are the true widths of the mineralised zones given current downhole intercepts?
  • Can the DHEM targeting strategy unlock new discoveries along the broader 57km strike?
