Rokeby Resources Limited (ASX, RKB) has announced compelling new assay results from its Hurricane Project in northern Queensland, revealing multiple high-grade gold and antimony targets. The latest field sampling and mapping program has identified ten new prospects, including Nor’easter, Twister, Howling, and Gale, with rock chip samples returning significant gold grades up to 25.78 grams per tonne and antimony concentrations as high as 22.08%.

This discovery builds on Rokeby’s previous work and confirms the presence of a district-scale orogenic gold-antimony system across at least 20 prospects within the project area. The broad distribution of mineralised veins, coupled with the high-grade nature of the samples, underscores the potential for substantial mineral resources.

Geological and Structural Insights

Structural mapping conducted alongside sampling has shed light on the controls governing mineralisation at Hurricane. The Hurricane and Retina Faults form a major sinistral fault pair that channels mineralising fluids, with dilation zones along northeast-trending folds promoting the emplacement of quartz-sulphide veins. These veins occur predominantly in competent sandstone units at lithological boundaries with mudstone, where rheological contrasts facilitate vein development.

The Gale–Howling–Bouncer area stands out as an antimony-rich structural domain, with fault splays off the Hurricane Fault influencing vein orientation and mineralisation patterns. The central project zone hosts extensive gold occurrences within a dilational hinge zone, a structural setting favourable for fluid focusing and repeated vein formation. Rokeby’s findings draw parallels with globally significant turbidite-hosted gold systems such as Bendigo and Fosterville.

Next Steps, Targeted Drilling and Exploration

Rokeby is preparing for a Phase 2 reverse circulation drilling program designed to refine target rankings and test the continuity and grade of mineralisation. This program will leverage detailed regolith mapping and soil geochemistry to identify concealed mineralised zones and expand soil grids where broad geochemical halos are detected.

The drilling campaign will focus on testing wide mineralised zones informed by structural interpretations, high-grade shoots within existing lodes at Bouncer South, Tornado, and Holmes, and first-pass drilling at newly identified high-priority prospects.
