Right Resources Mobilises for Maiden 4,800m Drill Campaign at Pilot Gold Project
Right Resources has completed early works and secured permits to launch a 4,800m diamond drilling program at its high-grade Pilot Project in Tumbarumba, NSW, following a successful $10 million IPO.
- All permits and roadworks completed for maiden drilling
- 4,800m diamond drilling to test gold zones up to 700m deep
- Historic grades up to 56.6 g/t Au confirmed by company sampling
- Nine electromagnetic anomalies identified extending over 1km depth
- IPO raised $10 million, exceeding initial target
Momentum Builds at Pilot Project
Right Resources Limited (ASX – RRE) has reached a significant milestone with the completion of all preparatory works and permit approvals necessary to commence its maiden diamond drilling program at the Pilot Project, located in the Tumbarumba region of New South Wales. This follows the company’s successful ASX listing in late October 2025, which saw an oversubscribed IPO raising A$10 million, surpassing the initial target of A$8 million.
The Pilot Project is a highly prospective gold exploration site with a rich history of hard rock and alluvial workings, many of which remain undocumented in official NSW mineral databases. The company’s recent surface sampling has revealed gold grades ranging from modest 0.1 grams per tonne to an impressive 56.6 grams per tonne, underscoring the potential for significant high-grade mineralisation.
Drilling Program Details and Objectives
Right Resources has engaged Eagle Drilling NQ Pty Ltd, a specialist diamond drilling contractor, to execute a 4,800-metre drilling campaign using a Sandvick DE712 track-mounted rig capable of reaching depths exceeding 700 metres. Mobilisation to site is underway, with drilling scheduled to commence in late November 2025.
The Phase 1 drilling program aims to test extensions of known mineralisation beneath historic Pilot Mine workings, target sub-vertical high-grade zones, and explore broader gold stockwork systems. Additionally, the program will investigate nine electromagnetic anomalies identified through Magneto-Telluric surveys, which are interpreted to extend beyond 1 kilometre in depth. These anomalies could represent significant mineralised structures yet to be fully understood.
Geological Context and Historical Insights
Geological mapping and LiDAR surveys have revealed a complex network of historic shafts and horizontal adits, with over 1,700 potential historic workings identified around the Pilot Project area. NSW Mines Department records indicate historical production grades averaging 38.4 grams per tonne gold, lending credence to the high-grade potential of the site.
The host geology includes sheared porphyritic rhyolite associated with sub-vertical gold zones and stockwork veining, typical of epithermal gold systems. These geological features, combined with the extensive historic workings and geophysical anomalies, position the Pilot Project as a compelling exploration target within the Lachlan Fold Belt, adjacent to the prolific Gilmore Fault Zone.
Looking Ahead
Right Resources is continuing detailed mapping and ground magnetic surveys to refine mineralised trends and identify additional targets for follow-up drilling. The outcomes of the maiden drilling program will be critical in defining the scale and quality of the gold mineralisation and informing future resource development strategies.
Managing Director Graham Howard expressed confidence in the project’s potential and the company’s ability to maintain momentum following its IPO, highlighting the significance of partnering with an experienced drilling contractor to execute this pivotal program.
Bottom Line?
As drilling kicks off, all eyes will be on Right Resources to see if the Pilot Project can deliver on its high-grade promise and justify the strong investor interest.
Questions in the middle?
- Will the maiden drilling confirm extensions of high-grade gold mineralisation beneath historic workings?
- How will the identified electromagnetic anomalies translate into economically viable resources?
- What impact will drilling results have on Right Resources’ valuation and future capital raising plans?
