Cross Fault at Spring Creek Could Offset Gold Mineralisation, Impacting Resource Potential

Maiden Drilling Program Validates High-Grade Gold Potential

Cosmo Metals Ltd (ASX, CMO) has delivered encouraging results from its inaugural reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Spring Creek prospect, part of its expansive Bingara Project in New South Wales. The 1,045-metre program, comprising 13 holes, intersected gold mineralisation in nine holes, confirming the continuity of a shallow, easterly dipping high-grade gold horizon previously identified.

The standout intersection was a 1.0-metre interval grading 2.31 grams per tonne (g/t) gold at 17 metres depth in hole SCRC026, located approximately 25 metres down dip from a previously reported 6.0 metres at 9.99 g/t gold in hole SCRC016. This continuity of mineralisation reinforces the prospect’s potential to host economically significant gold deposits.

Structural Insights Reveal New Target Zones

Geological interpretation identified a cross fault south of the high-grade mineralised block centred on SCRC016. This fault appears to offset the mineralisation, with new gold intersections detected south of this structure, including 1.0 metre at 0.83 g/t gold from 24 metres in hole SCRC022. These findings suggest potential structural repetitions of the high-grade zone to the south and west, opening fresh targets for follow-up exploration.

Managing Director Ian Prentice highlighted the significance of these structural insights, stating that the enhanced geological understanding will guide both immediate follow-up work at Spring Creek and broader exploration along the 12-kilometre Star of Bingara to Lone Hand Trend. This corridor, rich in historic workings, remains largely untested beyond the immediate Spring Creek area, presenting a compelling opportunity for new discoveries.

Integration of Historical Data and Modern Techniques

The drilling results complement extensive historical exploration data and a recent high-resolution LiDAR survey covering 484 square kilometres of the project area. This integration of modern geophysical techniques with legacy data enhances targeting precision and supports systematic rock chip sampling and geological mapping planned for early 2026.

Additionally, Cosmo Metals is advancing exploration at the Mt Everest-Mona trend within the project, targeting a +4-kilometre volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) copper corridor. This work, co-funded by the NSW Government, is expected to yield further insights into the region’s mineral potential.

Safe and Efficient Execution

The maiden drilling campaign was completed safely and without environmental incidents, employing industry-standard sampling and assay protocols. Samples were analysed by ALS Brisbane using rigorous quality control measures, ensuring reliable and repeatable assay results.

While no mineral resource estimates have yet been reported, the data gathered lays a strong foundation for future resource definition and development planning.
