The project area benefits from excellent infrastructure, including proximity to Interstate 15, high-voltage power lines servicing Mountain Pass, and a Union Pacific rail line within 25 kilometres, which could support future bulk logistics. Crucially, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management has approved Bayan’s Plan of Operations for Desert Star, clearing the way for systematic field activities and advancing the project toward drill testing. The Phase 2 sampling program, which included 73 rock chip and 56 heavy mineral concentrate samples, was designed to infill and extend anomalous zones identified earlier and to test priority structural corridors highlighted by geophysical data.

Integrated geological, geochemical, and geophysical studies have delineated four coherent high-priority REE targets consistent with carbonatite-hosted systems. While Desert Star North returned generally lower REE grades, elevated barium levels indicate hydrothermal enrichment, prompting plans for further targeted sampling to better understand mineralisation controls and continuity.
