Diablo Resources Unveils Nine High-Grade Drill Targets at Star Range Project

Diablo Resources has pinpointed nine priority drilling targets at its Star Range Silver-Antimony-Copper Project in Utah, with the standout North Star prospect boasting exceptional surface grades and extensive mineralised trends.

  • Nine priority targets identified via drone aeromagnetic survey
  • North Star prospect shows high-grade silver, antimony, copper, and gold surface samples
  • Mineralised trends extend over approximately 3,000 metres of strike at North Star
  • Drilling application to be submitted alongside planned ground geophysical surveys
  • Project benefits from proximity to historic mines and soaring silver prices

Exploration Advances at Star Range

Diablo Resources Limited (ASX – DBO) has taken a significant step forward in its exploration campaign at the Star Range Silver-Antimony-Copper Project in southwestern Utah. Following a drone aeromagnetic survey completed late last year, the company has identified nine priority targets for drilling, with the North Star prospect emerging as the most compelling.

The drone survey, conducted over 186 lode claims spanning 3,582 acres on Bureau of Land Management land, was independently processed and modelled in 3D. This modern geophysical technique has confirmed structural features that align with high-grade surface rock chip samples, validating Diablo’s exploration model and enabling a more focused approach to upcoming drilling.

North Star – A Standout Target

At North Star, surface sampling has revealed remarkable grades including silver concentrations exceeding 3,000 grams per tonne, alongside notable antimony, copper, and gold values. These results extend over a strike length of roughly 3,000 metres, suggesting a mineralised system of significant scale. The magnetic data highlights a structurally prospective zone near intrusive contacts, which is often a hallmark of polymetallic mineralisation.

CEO Lyle Thorne emphasised the timing of this discovery, noting the unprecedented surge in silver prices, up nearly 150% in 2025 and continuing to climb in early 2026, as well as the growing demand for copper driven by electrification and artificial intelligence sectors. He highlighted the strategic advantage of advancing exploration in a Tier-1 jurisdiction like Utah, which is rich in mining history and infrastructure.

Strategic Location and Historical Context

The Star Range project is situated near historically significant mining operations such as the Horn Silver Mine and the Milford Copper Mine. The Horn Silver Mine alone produced 17 million ounces of silver and substantial quantities of gold and copper during its operational life. This proximity not only underscores the geological potential but also offers logistical benefits, including access to power, transport, and established mining expertise in the region.

Next Steps – Drilling and Geophysics

Diablo plans to submit its drilling permit application imminently, aiming to commence its maiden drilling program at Star Range. To refine drill targeting, the company will undertake ground-based Induced Polarisation (IP) geophysical surveys, which can detect subsurface sulphide mineralisation and help delineate the geometry and depth of mineralised zones.

Beyond North Star, several other targets identified by the drone survey remain untested by surface geochemistry, presenting further exploration upside. The integration of airborne magnetic data with surface sampling and satellite imagery will continue to evolve the geological model, enhancing understanding of mineralisation controls and potential scale.

Market and Strategic Implications

The timing of Diablo’s exploration push coincides with a bullish silver market and heightened demand for critical minerals in the United States. The recent decision by major corporations to source domestic copper highlights the strategic importance of projects like Star Range. Should drilling confirm substantial resources, Diablo could position itself as a key player in supplying critical metals essential for emerging technologies and green energy initiatives.

Bottom Line?

With high-grade targets defined and market conditions favourable, Diablo’s next drilling results will be pivotal in shaping Star Range’s future.

Questions in the middle?

  • How will permit approvals and drilling timelines unfold amid regulatory processes?
  • What scale and continuity of mineralisation will drilling at North Star confirm?
  • Could further geophysical surveys unlock additional high-priority targets beyond North Star?
