Moho’s Emu Prospect Boasts 14.9g/t Gold Over 300m Trend
Moho Resources is accelerating drilling at its Bush Chook Project in WA’s Pilbara, focusing on the promising Emu and Little Creature gold prospects after recent tenement grants.
- Emu prospect features a 300m high-grade gold trend with samples up to 14.9g/t Au
- Little Creature prospect shows a 650m gold trend with rock chips up to 5.6g/t Au
- Initial drilling at Swan prospect returned no significant gold intercepts
- Exploration licences covering 16% of the project area granted; remainder expected in H1 2026
- Multiple work streams underway to advance 14 priority targets including heritage clearances and soil sampling
Moho Resources Shifts Focus to High-Grade Targets
Moho Resources Ltd (ASX, MOH) has announced a strategic pivot in its exploration efforts at the Bush Chook Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. Following the granting of key exploration licences in January 2026, the company is prioritising drilling at two standout gold prospects, Emu and Little Creature, both noted for their high-grade surface mineralisation.
Chairman Peter Christie highlighted that while initial drilling at the Swan prospect did not yield significant gold intercepts, the southern portion of the anomaly remains untested. However, the company has temporarily paused drilling at Swan to fast-track exploration at Emu and Little Creature, where licences were only recently granted.
Emu Prospect, A Promising High-Grade Gold Trend
The Emu prospect was identified during early-stage due diligence in 2025 and features a gossanous quartz vein outcropping over 100 metres within a broader 300-metre high-grade gold trend. Rock chip samples from this vein have returned grades as high as 14.9 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, with new samples up to 6.98g/t Au. This consistent mineralisation at surface makes Emu a compelling target for further drilling.
Little Creature, Extending the Gold Footprint
Similarly, the Little Creature prospect extends over a 650-metre gold trend, with historic rock chip samples reaching 5.6g/t Au and soil samples up to 252 parts per billion (ppb) gold. A drilling Program of Works has already been approved for Little Creature, with infill soil sampling planned ahead of drilling in the first half of 2026.
Swan Prospect and Other Targets
Initial reverse circulation drilling at the Swan prospect, which covers a 1.4-kilometre gold anomaly, returned only anomalous gold values without significant intercepts. Drilling will resume to test the southern portion of this anomaly later in 2026. Beyond these three prospects, Moho has identified 14 high-priority targets across the Bush Chook Project, including an area where a 21.4-gram gold nugget was recently discovered by local prospectors.
Advancing Exploration in 2026
With exploration licences granted covering just 16% of the total project area, Moho expects the remaining tenements to be approved in the first half of 2026. The company is advancing multiple work streams including heritage clearances, land access agreements, infill soil sampling, and detailed mapping to prepare these targets for drilling. The Bush Chook Project’s geological setting within the Pilbara Craton is analogous to nearby AIM Mining’s successful gold operations, adding further context to Moho’s exploration potential.
Bottom Line?
As Moho Resources accelerates drilling at its highest-grade prospects, the next round of assay results will be pivotal in defining the Bush Chook Project’s potential.
Questions in the middle?
- Will drilling at Emu and Little Creature confirm the high-grade surface mineralisation at depth?
- How will the pending tenement grants and heritage clearances impact the exploration timeline?
- What implications do nearby AIM Mining operations have for Moho’s project valuation and development strategy?
