Geophysical Breakthrough at North Peters

Altair Minerals Limited (ASX, ALR) has announced the identification of significant untested geophysical targets at its North Peters gold project, part of the Greater Oko Project in Guyana. Historic induced polarization (IP) and resistivity surveys conducted in 2010 have revealed large chargeability and resistivity anomalies that remain largely unexplored, offering a tantalising opportunity to expand the known high-grade gold mineralisation.

The standout anomaly, known as the C1 Target, exhibits a chargeability high extending approximately 900 metres in strike, with only about 300 metres having been drilled to date. Notably, some of the best intercepts, such as 109 metres at 2.04 grams per tonne gold and 63 metres at 2.25 grams per tonne, occur on the edges of this anomaly, drilled in the opposite direction to the chargeability high itself. This suggests the core of the C1 Target remains a compelling and immediate drill target.

Expansive Resistivity Corridor and Additional Targets

Complementing the chargeability highs is the R1 Target, a resistivity corridor stretching roughly 2.7 kilometres, of which only 600 metres has been drilled. This corridor aligns with the thickest and highest-grade mineralisation encountered so far at North Peters, indicating a structurally controlled zone of gold mineralisation. The corridor also extends towards the Old Granny Target, where limited drilling has returned encouraging results, further underscoring the potential for a substantial mineralised system.

Additional chargeability anomalies, C2 and C3, have been delineated on the survey margins. While C3 has seen some peripheral drilling with promising intercepts, the core remains untested. C2 is entirely untested and open, presenting further upside for exploration.

Strategic Positioning in a Premier Gold Jurisdiction

Situated within the Guiana Shield, a region gaining prominence for its Birimian greenstone belt geology akin to prolific West African gold provinces, the Greater Oko Project benefits from a stable, pro-mining jurisdiction. Recent multi-billion-dollar market capitalisations and takeovers of nearby projects by companies such as G2 Goldfields and GMining Ventures validate the region’s exploration potential.

Altair’s CEO, Faheem Ahmed, emphasised the significance of these geophysical results, noting the strong potential to materially expand the high-grade footprint at North Peters. The company plans to commence drilling in the first quarter of 2026, alongside geochemical programs to refine target areas for follow-up drilling.
