Auravelle Metals has identified numerous new gold and silver anomalies at its Nuckulla Hill and Tunkillia North projects through an extensive soil sampling program, setting the stage for a series of follow-up drilling campaigns.
- 2,631 soil samples collected and analysed using advanced ultrafine techniques
- Multiple new gold and silver anomalies discovered along the Yarlbrinda Shear Zone
- Follow-up RC drilling at Sheoak scheduled for March 2026
- Regional aircore drilling program planned for Q2 2026 targeting prioritised anomalies
- Exploration pipeline expanded with maiden work planned at the Skye Project
Expanding the Gold Frontier in South Australia
Auravelle Metals Limited (ASX – AUV) has announced promising results from its late 2025 regional soil sampling program at the Nuckulla Hill and Tunkillia North gold projects in South Australia. The extensive program, which involved collecting 2,631 soil samples, has revealed multiple new gold and silver anomalies, many in areas previously unexplored or lightly tested.
These anomalies are predominantly located along the Yarlbrinda Shear Zone, a significant structural corridor known for hosting gold mineralisation, including the nearby 1.6 million ounce Tunkillia Gold Project operated by Barton Gold Holdings. Auravelle’s findings not only confirm historical anomalies but also substantially increase the number of high-priority targets for future drilling.
Advanced Sampling Techniques Yield New Insights
The soil samples were analysed using Labwest’s UltraFine UFF method, a sophisticated technique that isolates sub-2 micron particles to enhance detection sensitivity for gold and silver. This approach has allowed Auravelle to identify coincident gold and silver anomalies that stand out as particularly compelling exploration targets.
Notably, the sampling density varied, with a nominal 200m by 800m grid across most areas and a more detailed 100m by 200m grid between Sheoak and Myall, filling gaps in historical data. The results have delineated broad zones of anomalous gold, including around Auravelle’s Sheoak prospect, where previous drilling has already returned high-grade intercepts such as 28m at 3.4 grams per tonne gold, including 4m at 12.7 grams per tonne.
Upcoming Drilling Programs to Test New Targets
Building on these encouraging soil results, Auravelle plans to commence a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at Sheoak in March 2026. This program aims to infill and extend known mineralisation along strike and at depth, targeting the open-ended gold trend that currently extends over 200 metres.
Following the Sheoak drilling, a regional aircore drilling campaign is slated for the second quarter of 2026. This discovery-focused program will test the prioritised soil anomalies identified in the recent sampling, many of which lie in areas with little to no previous drilling.
Strategic Exploration and Future Prospects
Beyond Nuckulla Hill and Tunkillia North, Auravelle is preparing for maiden exploration at its Skye Project in South Australia, alongside planned geophysical and heritage surveys to support ongoing exploration efforts. Managing Director Andrew Muir highlighted the significance of the soil sampling results, noting that they have expanded the pipeline of prospective targets and underscored the potential for multiple significant gold systems within the Yarlbrinda Shear.
With a methodical approach combining advanced geochemical techniques and targeted drilling, Auravelle is positioning itself to unlock new discoveries in a historically underexplored region of the Gawler Craton. The company’s aggressive exploration timetable promises a steady flow of news and data for investors to monitor in the coming months.
Bottom Line?
Auravelle’s expanding footprint in South Australia sets the stage for a pivotal year of drilling that could reshape its resource potential.
Questions in the middle?
- Will the upcoming Sheoak RC drilling confirm and extend the high-grade gold zones?
- How will the regional aircore drilling program refine the prioritisation of new anomalies?
- What impact will maiden exploration at the Skye Project have on Auravelle’s portfolio?
