Critical Resources Limited (ASX, CRR) has delivered a compelling update on its Halls Peak Project in New South Wales, revealing a burgeoning multi-commodity discovery pipeline that spans gold, antimony, and silver. The company’s latest petrographic analyses and drilling results spotlight a major orogenic gold-antimony-silver system emerging at the Amoco prospect, alongside exceptional silver mineralisation at the Gibsons base metals project. Meanwhile, progress on land access at the Mayview Antimony Prospect sets the stage for further exploration.

Amoco, A District-Scale Orogenic System

Petrographic studies of maiden drill samples from Amoco confirm a late-stage, shallow-level orogenic lode system that has overprinted an earlier volcanic-hosted massive sulphide (VHMS) deposit. This mineralisation style is analogous to the nearby Hillgrove deposits operated by Larvotto Resources, known for their gold-antimony-silver richness. Surface sampling at Amoco has returned impressive grades, including up to 17.9 g/t gold, 0.7% antimony, and 53.2 g/t silver, underscoring the prospect’s high-grade potential.

The geological setting features quartz-rich hydrothermal breccias and vein infills with multiple pulses of mineralising fluids, forming zones with up to 20% sulphide minerals. Alteration assemblages typical of epithermal to mesothermal conditions further support the orogenic gold system interpretation. Structural modelling highlights major fault conduits that likely channelled mineralising fluids, reinforcing Amoco’s potential as a significant discovery corridor.

Gibsons, Exceptional Silver Grades Confirmed

The Gibsons Project, already hosting an inferred mineral resource of 840,000 tonnes at notable zinc, lead, copper, silver, and gold grades, continues to impress with drilling results revealing multiple stacked silver-bearing lodes. Several intercepts boast ultra-high silver grades exceeding 900 g/t, with standout assays including 3,780 g/t, 1,900 g/t, and 1,750 g/t silver. These lodes extend beyond current resource boundaries, suggesting ample scope for near-term resource expansion.

Two distinct silver mineralisation styles are evident at Gibsons, massive sulphide-hosted silver associated with base metals, and a structurally distinct black shale-hosted silver system where silver occurs as tetrahedrite disseminated in altered shale. This dual system broadens the exploration footprint and offers multiple targets for follow-up drilling.

Mayview, Advancing Antimony-Gold Prospects

At Mayview, adjacent to Larvotto’s Hillgrove Antimony-Gold operations, Critical Resources is advancing land access negotiations to enable exploration over historic antimony workings. Rock-chip samples here have returned exceptional antimony grades up to 52.3% and gold up to 2.71 g/t, indicating potential for a Hillgrove-style orogenic Sb-Au system extension. The company plans a low-impact soil-geochemistry survey once access is secured, aiming to delineate targets for future drilling.
