Strategic Expansion of Williams Gold-Silver Project

SQX Resources Limited has announced a significant expansion of its Williams Gold-Silver Project in Montana, more than doubling its landholding through a recent staking campaign. The company’s US subsidiary, AM6 Mining LLC, now controls 45 claims, up from 20, effectively securing a much larger footprint across a historically productive epithermal vein system.

This expansion is not just about acreage. It strategically captures approximately 2.5 kilometres of strike extensions of the bonanza-grade veins associated with the Black Bear workings. These veins have a proven track record, with historical bulk sampling from the 1980s yielding exceptional grades; 876 tonnes at 141.7 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 780 g/t silver. Such grades are rare and highlight the potential scale and quality of mineralisation within the project area.

Unlocking New Prospects Beyond Black Bear

Beyond the main Black Bear system, the newly staked claims also encompass additional outcropping veins, notably Fool’s Hen and Christian’s Reef. Recent grab samples from these areas have returned encouraging assays, including 4.3 g/t gold and 30 g/t silver, suggesting these structures could host economically significant mineralisation. This diversification of targets within the expanded land package enhances the project’s exploration upside.

Executive Chairman Bevan Tarratt emphasised the importance of securing these strike extensions, noting that the company is now positioned to explore a significant vein field rather than a single deposit. This broader perspective could unlock multiple bonanza-grade shoots, potentially transforming the project’s scale and value.

Historical Data Validates High-Grade Potential

The company’s 2025 assay results have validated historical underground sampling and bulk sampling campaigns conducted by Mark V Petroleum & Mines Ltd in the 1980s. These works identified steeply plunging high-grade shoots within the epithermal vein system, reinforcing the geological model and exploration targets. Notably, the 101 raise produced outstanding grades, and other development levels showed consistent mineralisation, underpinning the project’s robust historical credentials.

Moreover, qualitative conductivity testing on sulphide-rich samples indicates that electromagnetic survey techniques, including downhole EM, could be effective in delineating high-grade zones. This geophysical approach has proven successful in similar Australian gold projects, suggesting a promising path forward for SQX’s exploration team.

Looking Ahead – A Busy 2026 Exploration Season

With the expanded landholding secured, SQX plans an active 2026 field season. The program includes detailed surface and underground geological mapping, bulk sampling of exposed mineralised zones, electromagnetic geophysical surveys, drilling, and metallurgical testing. These efforts aim to systematically test the newly acquired strike extensions and other vein structures, advancing the project towards resource definition.
