Recent drilling results reveal that the PGM-Cu-Ni sulfide mineralisation now extends over a footprint of approximately 650 metres in width, 850 metres along strike, and at least 348 metres in depth, with mineralisation remaining open at depth.

This growth in scale is underscored by thick, laterally continuous sulfide zones intersected in multiple drill holes, notably at the SW5 and SW6 targets. The company’s re-assays using a comprehensive seven-element platinum group metals suite (PGE7) have confirmed exceptionally high-grade intervals, including a standout 1 metre intercept grading 54 grams per tonne PGE7, equivalent to 1.74 ounces per tonne, highlighting the high tenor of the mineralisation.

Geochemical Signatures Point to Feeder Pipe Proximity

Importantly, the elevated concentrations of iridium, ruthenium, osmium, and rhodium, collectively known as iridium-group PGMs, reinforce the interpretation that the Southwest sulfide system is located close to a primary magmatic feeder pipe. This geochemical signature is characteristic of sulfide accumulation zones where repeated magma recharge events promote metal enrichment and upgrading.

Chief Geologist Dr Solomon Buckman emphasised that these iridium-group metals act as sensitive tracers of dynamic magmatic processes, confirming the system’s feeder-proximal nature and supporting the potential for both broad mineralised packages and discrete, exceptionally high-grade intervals.

Discovery of a Large Iron-Oxide-Apatite System at SW2

Adding a new dimension to the project’s mineral potential, drilling at the SW2 Prospect, located about 1.6 kilometres west of the Southwest sulfide corridor, has identified a large iron-oxide-apatite (IOA) style polymetallic system. This intrusive complex is rich in iron, titanium, phosphorus, scandium, vanadium, zirconium, and rare earth elements, minerals critical to advanced manufacturing and low-carbon technologies.

The coexistence of this IOA system alongside the sulfide-dominated PGM-Cu-Ni mineralisation suggests a multi-chamber, long-lived magmatic plumbing system within the Dante intrusion. Such a complex magmatic environment is capable of generating diverse and economically significant mineral deposits.

Strategic Implications and Next Steps

Terra Metals’ Managing Director Thomas Line highlighted the significance of these results, noting that the combination of thick sulfide mineralisation and the polymetallic IOA system confirms the presence of a fertile and chemically diverse magma chamber. This bodes well for the potential scale and value of the Dante Project.

The company plans to tighten drill spacing and focus upcoming drilling campaigns on defining the true extent and geometry of the sulfide system, testing down-dip continuity of high-grade zones, and clarifying the spatial relationship between the sulfide and IOA mineral systems.
