Auravelle Metals Extends High-Grade Gold Zone at Sheoak Prospect
Auravelle Metals has confirmed very high-grade gold mineralisation and broad intercepts at its Sheoak Prospect within the Nuckulla Hill Gold Project, revealing a +600m long gold trend that remains open for expansion.
- High-grade gold up to 20g/t Au confirmed in 1m resampling
- Broad mineralisation including 21m @ 3.1g/t Au intercept
- Gold trend extends over 600m and remains open north, south and at depth
- Further RC and discovery-focused aircore drilling planned
- Sheoak located within the prolific Yarlbrinda Shear Zone near Barton Gold’s Tunkillia project
Strong Confirmation of High-Grade Gold
Auravelle Metals Limited (ASX:AUV) has delivered a compelling update from its November 2025 reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Sheoak Prospect, part of the Nuckulla Hill Gold Project in South Australia. The company’s 1-metre resampling of previously composited samples has confirmed both the grade and width of gold mineralisation, with standout results including a 1m intercept grading as high as 20.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.
Among the highlights, a broad zone of 21 metres at 3.1g/t gold from 54 metres depth was intersected, including a 3-metre section averaging 10.5g/t. Other significant intercepts include 5 metres at 5.8g/t gold, featuring a 1-metre high-grade core of 20.2g/t, and multiple additional zones of mineralisation that reinforce the prospect’s robust potential.
Expanding the Gold Footprint
Crucially, the resampling also identified a 1-metre intercept grading 3.0g/t gold located approximately 200 metres south of the main mineralised zone. This discovery extends the known gold anomaly corridor at Sheoak to over 600 metres in length, with the mineralised system remaining open along strike to the north and south, as well as at depth. This suggests Auravelle is only beginning to unlock the full scale of the deposit.
Sheoak sits within the Yarlbrinda Shear Zone, a major structural feature that hosts several gold prospects including Barton Gold Holdings Limited’s nearby 1.6 million ounce Tunkillia Gold Project. The geological setting features medium- to coarse-grained granitoids and gneisses intensely sheared and brecciated, providing a fertile environment for hydrothermal lode-style gold mineralisation.
Looking Ahead: Aggressive Exploration Program
Auravelle is gearing up for a busy exploration schedule, with further infill and extensional RC drilling planned at Sheoak in the coming weeks. This will be followed by a discovery-focused aircore drilling campaign across multiple targets within the Nuckulla Hill Project, aiming to test the broader Yarlbrinda Shear Zone identified through recent soil sampling and structural reviews.
Managing Director Andrew Muir emphasised the significance of the results, stating that the strong grades and widths intersected so far reinforce the outstanding potential of the Nuckulla Hill Project. He highlighted that Sheoak is just one of several promising prospects in the region, and the upcoming drilling programs will provide a steady stream of news flow and data to further define the gold system.
With the mineralisation still open and the geological model evolving, Auravelle’s methodical approach to exploration is positioning the company well to potentially delineate a significant gold resource in this underexplored part of South Australia.
Bottom Line?
Auravelle’s Sheoak results mark a promising step forward, but the true scale of the gold system awaits further drilling to fully reveal its potential.
Questions in the middle?
- How will upcoming drilling refine the geometry and true width of the Sheoak mineralisation?
- What is the potential for resource definition and economic viability at Nuckulla Hill?
- Can Auravelle replicate or exceed the scale of neighbouring Tunkillia’s gold resources?
