Sky Metals Unveils High-Grade Tin Growth at Tallebung, Advances NSW Approval

Expanding the Tallebung Footprint

Sky Metals Limited (ASX:SKY) has delivered a fresh wave of promising exploration results from its flagship Tallebung Tin Project in central-western New South Wales. The latest drilling campaign, employing multiple rigs, has intersected thick, shallow zones of high-grade tin, tungsten, and silver mineralisation, reinforcing the project's potential as a near-term open-pit development.

Key drillholes such as TBRC317 and TBRC296 have returned standout intercepts, including 8 metres at 1.18% tin and 0.25% tungsten from 41 metres depth, and an impressive 46 metres at 0.26% tin with 30.2 grams per tonne silver from just 15 metres downhole. These results not only confirm the continuity of mineralisation within the known resource envelope but also highlight new high-grade zones on the deposit margins.

Surface Sampling Confirms Southern Extensions

Complementing the drilling success, surface rock chip assays have identified substantial southern extensions to the deposit, with tin grades up to 1.35% and silver up to 18.2 grams per tonne. These findings validate historical workings south of the current resource and open up high-priority targets for immediate follow-up drilling, which has already been permitted and integrated into the ongoing multi-rig program.

Regulatory Milestone: NSW State Significant Development Process Initiated

In parallel with exploration progress, Sky Metals has formally initiated the NSW State Significant Development (SSD) approval process for Tallebung. This marks a critical step towards development readiness, with the company engaging environmental consultants and commencing the Scoping Report. The appointment of a new Environmental Manager underscores the company’s commitment to accelerating environmental baseline studies, stakeholder engagement, and the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) work program.

Managing Director Oliver Davies emphasised the integrated approach: “With drilling, metallurgical testwork, and mine design activities advancing simultaneously alongside the SSD process, we are compressing timelines between exploration success and project development.”

Looking Ahead: Resource Growth and Development Readiness

Sky Metals is maintaining strong momentum with two reverse circulation rigs operating continuously to expand and infill high-grade zones. The data collected is feeding directly into mine design and mining studies, ensuring technical workstreams remain aligned with exploration outcomes. The company anticipates an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) in the near term, supported by the latest drilling and surface sampling results.

As Tallebung advances through regulatory and technical milestones, it positions itself as a strategically important source of tin, a critical metal in semiconductor and renewable energy technologies. The shallow, cassiterite-hosted tin mineralisation lends itself to low-cost production methods, further enhancing the project’s appeal.
