MetalsGrove Mining Limited has initiated a comprehensive exploration program at its Zuénoula Project, located in the heart of Côte d’Ivoire’s prolific Birimian greenstone belt. The program combines detailed regolith mapping with a state-of-the-art UAV LiDAR survey, marking a significant step forward in the company’s strategy to unlock gold potential across its Central West Gold Project.
The regolith mapping effort involves systematic field traverses and rock chip sampling, integrated with soil geochemistry and remote sensing data. This approach aims to decode the complex surface landforms and gold dispersion patterns where rock outcrops are scarce, providing a clearer picture of the subsurface mineralisation controls.
Leveraging Advanced Drone Technology
In parallel, MetalsGrove is deploying a DJI Matrice 300 RTK drone equipped with a Zenmuse L2 LiDAR sensor to conduct a high-resolution survey over approximately 21 square kilometres. This survey will generate detailed Digital Terrain Models and orthophoto imagery with exceptional precision; achieving around 94 data points per square metre and centimetre-level horizontal and vertical accuracy.
Such granular topographic data is expected to reveal subtle structural features and regolith variations that traditional methods might miss. By integrating these datasets, the company aims to refine its geological models and prioritise drilling targets more effectively, potentially accelerating the path to resource definition.

The Zuénoula Project sits within MetalsGrove’s broader Central West Gold Project, which spans over 1,300 square kilometres along a well-known gold trend that includes the nearby Abujar Gold Mine and Napié Gold Deposit.
