Resolution Minerals Unveils 13,700m Drill Campaign to Unlock Golden Gate’s Potential

Resolution Minerals is set to launch a major 45-hole diamond drilling program at its Golden Gate project in Idaho, aiming to define a maiden gold resource and explore tungsten potential.

  • Phase 2 drilling program of up to 13,700 metres across 45 diamond holes
  • Targets gold and tungsten mineralisation at Golden Gate North and South
  • Follows successful 2025 campaign with all holes intersecting gold mineralisation
  • Maiden Mineral Resource Estimate targeted for Q1 2027
  • Drilling to commence May 2026 using two MP1500 core rigs

Expanding the Golden Gate Footprint

Resolution Minerals Ltd (ASX:RML) has announced a significant expansion of its drilling activities at the Golden Gate fault zone, part of its wholly owned Horse Heaven Project in Idaho, USA. The upcoming Phase 2 program will see up to 45 diamond drill holes completed, totalling approximately 13,700 metres. This marks a substantial increase from the 2025 campaign, which delivered promising results from 14 holes totalling 3,780 metres.

The 2025 drilling campaign was notable for intersecting gold mineralisation in every hole, with broad zones of gold grades that remain open at depth. These encouraging results have set the stage for the new program, which aims to better define the scale and geometry of mineralisation across both Golden Gate North and South targets.

Multi-Commodity Potential and Strategic Importance

Beyond gold, the project also hosts tungsten and antimony mineralisation, adding a multi-commodity dimension that could enhance the project's economic appeal. Tungsten intervals identified in previous drilling suggest continuity with historical tungsten workings nearby, underscoring the potential for a diversified resource base.

Resolution plans to deploy two MP1500 core diamond rigs starting in early May 2026, weather permitting, with drilling expected to continue through mid-August. The program will focus roughly 60% of drilling at Golden Gate South and 40% at Golden Gate North, with a mix of infill and step-out holes designed to test strike and depth extensions.

Towards a Maiden Resource Estimate

The ultimate goal of this drilling campaign is to support the preparation of a maiden JORC-compliant Mineral Resource Estimate, targeted for release in the first quarter of 2027. CEO of US Operations, Craig Lindsay, emphasised the significance of the continuous gold system discovered so far and the open-ended nature of mineralisation in multiple directions.

Resolution’s exploration model interprets the Golden Gate system as an intrusive-related gold deposit controlled by northeast-southwest trending fault structures. This geological setting shares similarities with the nearby Stibnite Gold Mine, operated by Perpetua Resources, which adds a layer of strategic context to the project’s potential.

Looking Ahead

Alongside drilling, Resolution is advancing operational plans including expanded permits and metallurgical test work. The company’s methodical approach to exploration and resource definition is designed to steadily build investor confidence and attract strategic interest, particularly given the strong fundamentals for gold, tungsten, and antimony markets.

As the program unfolds, ongoing assay results and geological interpretations will guide follow-up drilling, aiming to unlock the full scale of the Golden Gate mineralised system and advance the Horse Heaven Project’s development trajectory.

Bottom Line?

Resolution Minerals’ ambitious drilling program could soon redefine the scale of gold and critical minerals at Golden Gate, setting the stage for a pivotal resource milestone.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will the Phase 2 drilling confirm continuity between Golden Gate North and South mineralisation zones?
  • How will tungsten and antimony grades influence the overall project economics alongside gold?
  • What impact will evolving commodity prices have on the timing and scale of project development?
