Exploration Breakthrough at Ridgeline

PolarX Limited (ASX:PXX) has reported compelling results from its initial reverse circulation drilling program at the Ridgeline prospect, part of its Humboldt Range Project in Nevada. The assays reveal a broad silver mineralisation halo enveloping the drill area, complementing previously announced high-grade gold intercepts. This combination of precious metals within the Rochester Rhyolite host rock signals a potentially significant epithermal system.

The drilling campaign, comprising 13 holes totaling over 2,000 metres, focused on the northern section of Ridgeline. It successfully outlined gold and silver mineralisation over an 800-metre strike length within a larger 3.6-kilometre anomaly. Notably, mineralisation remains open both laterally and at depth, suggesting considerable upside for resource expansion.

High-Grade Gold and Extensive Silver

Among the standout results, hole SP25-005 returned a bonanza-grade gold intercept of 1.5 metres at 37.29 grams per tonne, alongside broad zones of lower-grade gold and silver. Silver assays consistently showed wide intervals starting from surface, with all holes ending in silver mineralisation. This pervasive silver footprint envelops multiple mineralised vein zones trending northeast to southwest, reinforcing the scale of the system.

PolarX’s Managing Director, Dr Jason Berton, emphasised the significance of these findings, noting the mineralisation’s similarity or superiority in grade and width to nearby successful mines. The presence of a large silver halo alongside high-grade gold suggests a robust epithermal system with potential for increasing grades at depth.

Strategic Location and Regional Context

The Humboldt Range Project benefits from a prime location in Nevada’s prolific mining district, adjacent to major operations such as the Florida Canyon gold mine and the Rochester silver-gold mine. These established mines operate large-scale open-pit, heap-leach facilities, processing bulk tonnage at modest grades. PolarX’s claims lie within the same Rochester Rhyolite geological formation that hosts these deposits, lending further credibility to the prospectivity of Ridgeline and the broader Black Canyon claims.

Nearby projects like Solidus Resources’ Spring Valley and Coeur Mining’s Rochester mine boast multi-million-ounce reserves, underscoring the district’s potential. PolarX’s results at Ridgeline, combined with previous successes at Star Canyon, highlight a substantial mineralised footprint within the Black Canyon project area.

Next Steps and Outlook

In response to these encouraging results, PolarX is preparing for a major follow-up drilling program scheduled to commence in May. The company is also pursuing permits to test several historical high-grade veins within the Black Canyon valley, including the Lois, Indian Ike, JC, and Midas veins, which were mined in the early 20th century.

With mineralisation open in multiple directions and at depth, the upcoming drilling campaign aims to delineate the extent of the system further and potentially upgrade the project’s resource base. The combination of broad bulk-tonnage mineralisation and high-grade zones presents a compelling exploration narrative for investors and stakeholders.
