Monument Gold Project Soil Campaign Targets 96ppb Gold Anomalies and New Discoveries

Mining By Maxwell Dee 3 min read

Verity Resources has initiated a comprehensive soil sampling campaign across its expanded Monument Gold Project in Western Australia, aiming to identify new drill targets and support an upcoming resource upgrade.

  • Systematic soil sampling across newly granted Gum Well tenement and established prospects
  • Targeting multiple gold mineralisation styles including intrusion-hosted and BIF-hosted systems
  • Follow-up infill sampling at Star Well, McKenzie Well, and McKenzie Granite to refine anomalies
  • Campaign designed to generate drill-ready targets for aircore drilling
  • Upcoming Mineral Resource Estimate upgrade expected in April 2026

Expanding Exploration Horizons at Monument

Verity Resources Limited (ASX:VRL) has embarked on a significant soil sampling campaign across its Monument Gold Project, located in the prolific Laverton Goldfields of Western Australia. This initiative follows the recent granting of the Gum Well tenement, which more than doubles the company’s landholding to approximately 405 square kilometres, marking a pivotal moment in Verity’s district-scale growth strategy.

The campaign combines first-pass soil sampling across the newly acquired Gum Well area with targeted infill sampling at previously identified prospects including Star Well, McKenzie Well, and McKenzie Granite. These sites have shown promising gold and pathfinder element anomalies in earlier exploration phases but remain largely undrilled.

Diverse Geological Targets and Analogues

The Gum Well tenement hosts a varied and prospective geological setting, featuring high-level intrusives, ultramafic and mafic units, and banded iron formations (BIF). This diversity opens the door to multiple styles of gold mineralisation. Notably, the geological environment is analogous to nearby deposits such as Jupiter (1.5 million ounces) and Cameron Well (0.25 million ounces) held by Genesis Minerals, as well as the Westralia deposit (1.4 million ounces), which is hosted in BIF.

At Star Well, previous sampling revealed a 250-metre anomaly coinciding with BIF horizons and a broader 700-metre pathfinder element anomaly with peak gold values reaching 453 parts per billion. Rock chip samples have returned high-grade gold up to 6.17 grams per tonne, underscoring the prospect’s potential.

Advancing Untested Prospects

McKenzie Well and McKenzie Granite represent emerging targets within Verity’s portfolio. McKenzie Well features coherent gold-in-soil anomalies up to 96 parts per billion, situated adjacent to Genesis Minerals’ McKenzie Well deposit, which contains an inferred 34,000 ounces of gold. The McKenzie Granite, a large felsic intrusive body, exhibits gold-prospective multi-element signatures and lies close to known mineralisation, suggesting potential for new discoveries.

The current soil sampling campaign aims to infill and extend these anomalies, enhancing structural understanding and preparing the ground for follow-up aircore drilling. This dual approach of regional exploration alongside advancing the existing 154,000-ounce Korong-Waihi resource positions Verity to unlock significant value from the Monument project.

Looking Ahead

Verity anticipates that the soil sampling results will guide the prioritisation of drill targets, feeding into a broader exploration pipeline. An updated Mineral Resource Estimate, expected in April 2026, aims to upgrade portions of the resource to Indicated status, potentially increasing confidence and attractiveness to investors.

With only around 10% of the approximately 20-kilometre BIF strike length drilled to date, and over 60 priority targets identified, the Monument Gold Project remains ripe for discovery. Verity’s systematic and methodical approach could well pave the way for the next chapter in this emerging gold district.

Bottom Line?

Verity’s soil sampling campaign sets the stage for a critical exploration phase that could reshape the Monument Gold Project’s resource profile.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will the soil sampling results confirm new high-grade gold zones warranting immediate drilling?
  • How will the upcoming Mineral Resource Estimate upgrade impact Verity’s valuation and project financing options?
  • What are the timelines and expected scale for the follow-up aircore drilling program?
