Ore Resources Extends High-Grade Gold Mineralisation at Forrest with Phase 4 Drilling
Ore Resources Ltd reveals strong initial results from its Phase 4 drilling at the Forrest prospect, confirming significant down-dip and strike extensions of high-grade gold mineralisation. Diamond drilling is underway to test deeper zones, with further assay results and geophysical data expected soon.
- Phase 4 RC drilling confirms 90m down-dip extension at Forrest
- Key intercepts include 25m @ 2.82 g/t Au and 27m @ 1.54 g/t Au
- Diamond core drilling underway with assays due mid-May 2026
- Regional aircore drilling to start late April targeting Miriam and Burbanks East
- Ore Resources holds A$10.7 million cash and zero debt to fund exploration
Phase 4 Drilling Reveals Deeper High-Grade Gold Continuity at Forrest
Ore Resources Ltd (ASX:OR3) has delivered a compelling update from its Phase 4 Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Forrest prospect, part of the Miriam Gold Project in Western Australia’s Goldfields. The initial batch of assay results from 12 of 23 RC holes confirms substantial extensions of high-grade gold mineralisation both along strike and at depth in fresh rock lodes.
The standout intercept came from hole FGRC055, which returned 25 metres at 2.82 grams per tonne (g/t) gold starting from 170 metres downhole, including a 5-metre section grading 11.22 g/t from 186 metres. This represents a 90-metre down-dip extension beyond a previously reported high-grade intercept (12m @ 12 g/t Au) in hole FGRC027, underscoring the continuity of a key gold lode deepening the known resource footprint.
Additional Significant Intercepts and Diamond Drilling Progress
Other notable results include hole FGRC056, which intercepted 27 metres at 1.54 g/t Au from 135 metres, including 9 metres at 3.14 g/t to the end of the hole where mineralisation remains open. This hole was subsequently deepened with diamond drilling to 292.4 metres, with assays pending. Holes FGRC066 and FGRC067 also extended mineralisation in fresh rock and oxide zones, returning 9m @ 3.55 g/t and 8m @ 2.63 g/t respectively.
Complementing these RC results, Ore Resources has completed a 1,000-metre diamond drilling programme designed to test structural controls and deeper extensions beyond the limits of RC drilling. Samples from this diamond core programme are currently being processed, with assay results expected by mid-May 2026. The company’s Technical Director, Robin Cox, who is the Competent Person for the exploration data, has verified the sampling and assay protocols, ensuring industry-standard rigour.
Broader Exploration Activities and Funding Position
Beyond Forrest, Ore Resources is advancing a 30,000-metre Phase 4 drilling programme that includes RC, diamond core, and upcoming aircore (AC) drilling. Regional AC drilling is scheduled to commence in late April, targeting key prospects at Miriam and Burbanks East, with results expected from late May. The company also recently completed a Sub-Audio Magnetics (SAM) geophysical survey at Forrest, with results pending.
Ore Resources’ Managing Director Nick Rathjen highlighted the strong momentum, noting the company’s well-funded position with A$10.7 million in cash and zero debt as of December 2025. This financial strength underpins the ambitious exploration agenda across its Coolgardie and Kal East Gold Projects throughout 2026.
The latest drilling success builds on Ore Resources’ earlier work expanding its gold footprint in the region. Notably, the company recently defined new gold targets at Miriam, extending an anomalous corridor to 3.2 kilometres, and is integrating these findings with geophysical data ahead of the ongoing drilling programme. This integration of geochemical and geophysical insights is critical to refining exploration targets and resource models.
Bottom Line?
Ore Resources’ Phase 4 drilling confirms meaningful high-grade gold extensions at Forrest, setting the stage for deeper diamond drilling results and regional exploration that could reshape the Miriam Project’s resource potential.
Questions in the middle?
- Will the pending diamond drilling assays confirm further high-grade mineralisation at depth?
- How will the upcoming SAM geophysical survey data influence the targeting of strike and down-dip extensions?
- Can the regional aircore drilling at Miriam and Burbanks East uncover new discoveries to complement Forrest?
